Hopefully this is in the right spot. This is my first time making a full costume, and I've decided to make the mk 4 from halo wars because it just looks awesome! So naturally I'm starting from the ground up since I don't like having to alter existing things. I started with a mock morph suit that'll have the in-between pieces, I guess. Found this great hexagonal material at spotlight and thought that would be a great start since I can use it in future builds as some armours have that hex pattern. The goal is to have EVA foam in key spots such as forearms, biceps, chest, etc that have magnets in them to hold the armour a little better and make it useable in other builds and make it easy to swap out parts. But holy cow, this is the first thing I've sewn other than scrunchies, and it is impossible! Thoughts and suggestions?

Nice! Looks like you're going for a hybrid build. Is that Yaya Han fabric you're using for the undersuit?
Also, Aussie Aussie Aussie!

So I've got a bit of time today and tomorrow. Bless the weekend. Forgot to show the neck piece, but I'd say this wouldn't need any adjustments and can go straight to the final suit.
Was deciding between wetsuit foam and eva foam for the raised parts of the suit and wetsuit foam squishes too much so it'll just be a comfort thing now. EVA foam is the winner, but now I've just got to eyeball the layout and trial different spacings to get the desired layout for my bodyshape

The material is just sticking to tape at the moment but this is pretty much what I was hoping for! Not a great pic but it gets the idea across

The undersuit is looking stellar!

Do you have anything in the neck seal keeping it rigid? I really like the look of it.

Thank you! There's nothing in there at the moment, the way its stitched together is pretty much what gives it its form, as well as the zipper on the back. It runs from the very top to halfway down my back. And cause its made a little smaller, it stretches around my neck. However, all the stitching gets pretty irritating after a bit, so I'm looking into adding some wetsuit foam around the area
