Hello all, as you may know I had a slight mishap with my first Fotus helmet, but that won't stop me! I recently got the idea to do a FLOOD helmet and well I started on this project. In all honesty I don't know how far I will go with this project but so fat I have big hopes for it.

What I did with my helmet is I took the damaged part of the helmet and popped it out, then using an old tennis ball and some foam my goal is to make it look FLOOD infected.

interesting concept. keen to see this go further. remember when detailing, the flood dont need vital organs ;)

Hello all I just wanted to post a quick update on the progress of my Helmet and suit... concept. Over all I know how I want this to turn out but only time will tell.

Anyway today I went out and got some more materials for the helmet: Paint (Spray and Acrylic), and some clay (your see why) so when I got home I looked at the foam I had layer out, which is a majority of the upper right hand side of the helmet and then I took the clay and started to mold it around and along the foam; the foam in-fact acting as an anchor and guideline, and the clay to give a more rounded, natural and... Flood-ey look to it all. after doing that I took another piece of the scorched and cut tennis-ball I had and attached it to the helmet. Right now I am planning on where to put the last piece at as-well-as plan out the last of the Flood Tentacles and Bio-Masses, anyway on to the pictures!

Before Clay

After Clay

And the paints I plan to use on the Flood Bio-masses/Tentacles

Now finally I was at work and as we were sorting through the new costumes for Halloween and I saw this,

does anyone else thing that with some foam, paint and ingenuity this could make a good under-suit for a flood costume (Muscle Morph-Suit)

So after a lot of hard work I am left with only disappointment :( when I woke up this morning almost 1/4 of the 'arms' had either cracked or fallen off. thankfully with some Elmer's glue I was able to fix that. Tonight after I get off of work I plan to resin the Clay in hopes of hardening it some, and also seal up other cracks and kind of 'glue' it all to the helmet.

I do have some pictures form last night of the finished (pre-dry) clay.

That looks awesome dude! I love the creativity in repurposing a damaged/otherwise bad piece of armor. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

So today I come with a good/BIG update!

After some gluing and resining the clay has stabilized and hardened to such a point were I am no longer afraid to even touch it! So after some work I began to paint: I started with a basecoat of black, then a layer of silver and on top of that my colors, Blue and Grey. Right now I am going over the flood pieces with a flat black to counteract the spray-paint. after that I will do a layer of flesh-tone then some other highlight colors.
Now onto the Pic's

Well all I can say is that MY HELMET IS FINISHED!!!!

since the update this-afternoon I finished painting the flood portions of my helmet and all I can say is that it looks gruesome... in a good way. as of right now I am calling this project complete; however I am planning on doing a full Flood costume in the near future for Phx Comicon 2014! Now time to return to working on my un-infected Halo 4 armor

PICTURE TIME!!!

I saw that this was finally finished so eagerly I scrolled down to see the final thing. All I could saw was Eugahhhh.... As in it is grossly flood like. If the growths were shiny I don't think I would touch the helmet. Haha, Great job on it, really love the idea and I really love the finished project.

Dude, that looks sick..... In a good way haha. Lookin forward to seeing the whole suit!

The concept is extremely interesting and I must admit I was skeptic at first, looking at the first pics of your helmet, but as the paint was finally sprayed over and the whole thing was in full colors, I changed my mind instantly. I like your creativity and initiative, especially your skill with colors. It seriously looks a whole lot different with all the paint in place. Good job.

Looks great! I like the little detail in it, like the part at the bottom of the visor where it is chipped off. It would be awesome to see a full suit of flood armor!

Wow thanks for all of the compliments on the Helmet guys! I am glad I made something as good as you all think I did. I know some of you want to see my full costume and you will, soon. in the meantime I am going to Necro-Post on my GEN2 thread so keep your eyes out for that thread.

Again thank you all for your comments and I cant wait to show you what I'm cooking up for the full suit (will be a new thread)
