FUD Chief build

Hey all, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve made a thread. After seeing all the amazing costumes at Planet Comic-Con, I’ve decided to make a new suit, specifically the Mark IV as seen in Forward Unto Dawn. I’m looking to remake a few pieces I’ve already done to fix the seams, but while I figure that out I’m repainting my Nerf AR.

Good lord it’s been a while since I updated, but I’ve been semi busy as of late. So far I have built the shoulder pieces, the biceps, and just finished the forearms. I also ordered a FUD helmet from Rusty Pratt, with a Branfur visor. I unfortunately botched the visor install and had some of the chrome rub off of the visor, so hoping to order a new one. The helmet itself is painted and has LED’s installed, somewhat haphazardly I just admit. This build has challenged me in a lot of ways, even leading me to nearly give up on it. But motivation has returned and I can’t wait to show y’all what I do next!

Slow progress, but I’ve started on the shins, and have completed the handplates, hoping to attach them with elastic to the gloves.

Did some painting the last few days, got the biceps done and the lines on the shoulders as well

Another side project while I work on my armor is this Halo 4 BR from Cyberforge. I was worried about how it would go together but the kit included both screws and tabs, something I hadn’t thought possible! This’ll go great with Chief and with other weapons at Planet

Update! After a week of absolutely painstakingly slow taping and painting, the BR is done! Probably going to add weathering at a later date, but it’s back to the armor!

Both shins are now complete, translating the pep files to foam has not been easy

Shins have been painted and are pretty much compete at this point. Also got some elbow braces to hide the lanky arm syndrome

The first thigh is now fully built, I bought some padding to help fill out the suit and the thigh fits it like a glove. Gonna give it some foam clay for the bad seams and hopefully I’ll be able to knock out the other one quickly
