Yep, believe it or not, I actually do get something do from time to time, and it's not just electronics. Here's the pep I've been working on. I've got Robogenesis' bicep done, and Bevbor's unfolding of FS's helm. :D

So far Finished:
FS HD Helm
Robogenesis' Boots
Robogenesis' Biceps
Nugget's Forearms
Robogenesis's Hand Plates

Still to Go:
Crackhead09's Thighs
Crackhead09's Shins
FS HD Torso

Looking good man. With your guru like knowledge of electronics though how can we resist? I know for sure your hands control the life support system of this spartan. Back on topic though, looking good man, nice sharp folds. Does this pep file come with a visor? I'm wondering if it wouldn't have better supported the brim, just worried you might have some troubles with warping or sagging when it comes that time. As for the construction you get my stamp of approval.

Cheers,
Kensai

Thanks lol Ya, it came with a visor, but it was complicated and had two different layers, so I decided to stick with the support struts instead. I'm going to use very light coats of resin so it should be fine. Btw, Kensai, the parts for your stuff came in today, everything's on schedule. :D

Good to hear man. Yeah just be careful with that resin, hate to see such good work collapse on you. I might even suggest resining from the neck up doing 1/3 of the helmet at a time just to be uber safe.

Cheers,
Kensai

as one experienced pep builder to another, you get the RVB4Life verbal sign of approval....which is...

nice job!

Thanks everyone! :D

It was nice and hot today so I got some resining done on the left side. No sagging so far, but the resin filled in the grooves on the part above the light housing. Looks like I'm going to have to break out the dremel and cut those back out agains after everything else is resined and glassed.

You could probably make those grooves out of sintra so there is more height to them, therefore they'll be more defined. This also goes for the under-brim details and neck.

That's why I don't recommend that those details be glued on before resining. You'll face the same predicament when you put the bondo and later again when you paint it. But yeah, just get the dremel out and sand away.

i dont get why you went and scored every single line, it seems like you did more work than you should have. you can reduce the number of angles needed to score by going to configurations->line configurations->angle to be considered almost flat->drop it down (my default is 160, makes it way easier)

I wouldn't recommend dropping the angle limit so much on every model, you'll often find that it removes folds that you need... case in point, the ODST armor. I dropped the angle down to 160-165 or something like that and I'm actually having to do more work on the smoothing because some parts are flat when there should be a fold.

Thanks everyone! I'll have some pics up of it all resined, along with the HD boots Monday-ish.

Personally, I like the extra score lines. I set the angle at 175 on purpose. I find it easier to visualize the desired curvature if there's some extra folds in there.

Woo! Here's an update on the helm! I got it all smoothed, and it's like glass. All I used was some spot putty and good ole fashioned elbow grease. That crap's expensive btw. lol

No, black's not the final color, just my base for the orange I'm using. :D

Huh, can't believe no one posted after that last update. Oh well. I've got a bit of a dilemma on my hands now, torso sizing. I'm using FS's HD torso, and for the scaling, I measured the width of my torso at the last rib. I don't recall the exact measurement, but I scaled the pep torso so that the lower support strut was the same length as my gut is wide. Theoretically that should have sized the whole thing reasonable well.

The lower sides fit absolutely perfectly, about 1" of clearance for padding, so that part of the scaling worked great. The problem lies though, in the top. I believe it's a hair too wide. Tell me what you think.

I'm not sure what to do. If I redo with a smaller scale, there's no way it'll fit around my gut. I'm not a large guy, just mis-proportional. lol

Alright, I hate to do this, but I gotta give this a nudge to the top. Seems I've only been posting in the wee hours of the morning and it keeps getting covered up. Any advice on the torso, anyone?
