I'd originally posted my whole build log, but began thinking about it, this is a pretty halo specific site, so didn't know if the thread even really made much sense.

That being said, I'm working on a GOW lancer, I've got an arduino board with a waveshield (this is basically an arduino board with an SD card and onboard sound. So you can hook up buttons and make sounds, drive LED's and best of all you can program it to do whatever. I can share my code (which has basically been cut and paste from several other arduino projects around the net, but it's all open source)... would there be any interest here? You can pretty much use whatever sounds you want (I'm using GOW sounds that I extracted from the game)... I'm not trying to sell anything, just seems like it might be an alternative to more pricey soundboards.

I just re-read that and once again, I'm not trying to sell anything, just maybe looking to spark interest and perhaps get other people using arduino for stuff like this, as my programming skills are really quite terrible. :)

I started with a full size arduino uno and a wave shield from adafruit.com but after looking around a bit I found a guy selling tiny arduino mini sized boards with the waveshield stuff embedded with a SD slot, the whole thing is no bigger than 3" x 1" so you could stick it in whatever prop you wanted... just have to find a place to mount a speaker.

Anyway, if there's any interest I'll post my code and whatnot...

Well, I ended up posting the worklog over at RPF, so don't necessarily want to repost, but here's the thread...

I've been checking out your work on your lancer/paintball gun... pretty sweet!
