Hey guys. I'm new here and I have recently started on a Gundam Costume. (check my profile on Cosplay.com. Same username: GundamExige). However I recently ran into a problem. I made the helmet and it fit perfectly but when I measured the legs and arms of my Gundam model and scaled them up based on the size of the helmet I made, I found out that they were going to be waaay too long. So my question is: How can I add 20 inches to my height and 1 foot to my arms?

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Um... Eat green vegetables...? lol that's difficult, you could try removing some parts, but I don't think you'll be able to add height

With the gundam costumes that I looked at on Cosplay.com, it seems that a Gundams body does not scale to that of a humans very easily. You can either make it look like this: http://www.cosplay.com/photo/2750691/ (though it does seem kind of, wide, to say the least). Alternatively you can add stilts to the legs and extend the forearms out, but that would be a lot of work and you would not be able to pick up objects easily.

idk if you've noticed this already but it looks like he added height onto his costume by making the feet part of the gundam almost like a platform that he stands on. If you look closely his feet are actually in the ankle part of the costume. I'm assuming it allows for a more "gundam" like look by giving the illusion that his legs are longer than they really are. Hope this helped somewhat...good luck on your build!
