There's a lot of good 3D modelling software out there. Fusion 360 and Blender are common ones, both with different approaches. Fusion 360 is CAD software, so it's usually more of a mathematical and/or sketch-based and boolean approach. Blender on the other hand is generally vertex or sculpting approach, with booleans also an option.
Blender is open source so it's 100% free, even for commercial use. For Fusion you can get a free hobby license, which just restricts some options and commercial usage rights.
