H3 Needler For Pepakura W.i.p.

To the 405th, you all have given so much and not asked for anything in return, I wish to do the same. For a good month I have been playing around with a file which I found out was originally created by the talented Bevbor. I am altering it to look more like the halo 3 needler instead of the halo 1. I have received Bevbor's permission to alter and release the file. I have very few modeling skills that is why it has taken me so long.



I still have a few questions, and could use some help before I release the file to the 405th.



Here are some pictures of what I have so far. I have not made the needles for it yet.

Now the question I have is the scale. The halo wiki says the overall length is 57.8 cm or 22.75 in. That just seems to big to me. Also I need to know what exactly is the barrel. Halo wiki says the barrel is 16.25 cm or 6.4 in.

The last problem I am still working out is one side is skewed or something.

After I fix these minor problems, I will be unfolding it and have it to scale in A4 and Letter.

Great job, but I don't think you would really need the needles, I'm sure anyone who's making one would ahve something that could act as the needles.

If you are using 3ds max then you should use a symmetry modifier, it cuts the work in half.

I am not using 3ds max. I have been importing and exporting from blender to 3ds so I can use google sketchup then to pepakura then I can export as obj and back in blender.



Like I said before I am new to modeling and guessing there is an easier way to do things. This is just the cheapest way to model that I have found. Although very time consuming.

Fixed vertex problem in image 3.



Still would like feedback on what exactly is the barrel on the needler, is it what I have marked. Also is that the proper way to measure the overall length, the needler is not like a normal gun.



Is this considered a double post, first forum I have ever joined not sure what a double post is really.

that is the barrel,and the overall length should be from where u have it at the front to the bottom half of the back of the gun(bottom should be longer then the top check this pic out)

In this image the top part of the needler is longer, is that just because the angle.
