Hey All!

I was wondering if anyone here has attempted/collected the variations of the main characters armor's, specifically in pepakura format. I know Romeo has additional sniper specific goggles(Which would be filthy :D ), Dutch has an additional/external antennae, and Mickey I think, has a flashlight attachment. Initial forum searching didnt help much, but if my noob is showing, feel free to put me in my place.

Thanks!

there are multiple variations of the armors, as you know. Dutch has an entirely different helmet than the rest of the squad, and if you go to the wiki page located here

you will find almost everything you need. Dutch's helmet is there, along with the sniper goggle attachment and romeo's sniper-shield shoulder plate. as for the flash-light, you can just attach a real 9-LED flashlight to the helmet. there is multiple ways to do this. personally, i look at the ODST's in the game and see that they customize their armor as they please, so im going to do that with my armor but use the rookie helmet as a base :)

Ah, fantastic! Thanks for the links! As for Romeo's goggles, it seems that the Pepakura file is only of the front, I wonder how I can attatch it to the helmet so it looks somewhat natural. But, I'm getting ahead of myself. Thanks again for the help!

Ithica did an add on for the rube helm that makes it into a buck helm. Its the radio antennae attachement. It is hollowed with pre-drilled LED holes so it can be mounted, wired and what not. You can see it in the video threads, I think it is under "weekend with dave" I may be wrong. Just fire him a PM and see if he still has them available. My guess is he is more into trades than purchasing, but you will just have to check with him.

i can help you with that. i actually kind of want it to be hollow, that way i can stick some trippy stuff in there. you could always fill it in though. as for attaching it, i have your answer my friend :) magnets! these should work fine: http://www.kjmagneti....asp?prod=BX0C2 place one on each side of the goggles. you can hot-glue them in, it won't effect their strength. then, attach some on the sides of the helmets where the magnets in the goggles go (this needs to be done BEFORE bondoing) and then bondo over with a thin layer, then resin/smoothcast for strength. now, you have goggles that attach in a very similar manner to the one used in the ODST video game :) hope i helped!

EDIT: by the way, you can use this to magneticly attach your guns to your hip and your back with weapons like the battle-rifle and the pistol, and people will be amazed by you awsome skittles :)

Dang these forums move fast!

@tomb-stone: That's a great idea about the magnets, I hadn't even considered that! I actually realized in the meantime, that Romeo's Google's attach at the ears of the ODST Helmet, and I think I could pull that off, and wing the actually attachment, and keep the current pepakura front. I was thinking along the same lines of putting some interesting tech stuff in the helmet(Which wouldn't mix well with the magnets), but I don't want to talk a big game that it turns out I cant back up for whatever reason, so I'm going to hold off on that stuff until I have some pics :D

@Sr. Chief(Maverick): I'm still a little ways off from being able to start work(and its extremely frustrating), but I will make sure to do that when I get there, thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the help everyone!

hey, just checked this thread again, and saw your reply. check out this post of mine here. I'm modifying that base a bit, and I was thinking I could convert Romeo's goggles into NVG's, enclose them within the upper part and have the goggles attach at the temples. that would be very cool, then mixed with the drop-visor it should make a very sick helmet. can't wait to try it :)
