Halo Wedding?

So after four years I decided to propose to my girlfriend and Ive found out that my part of the wedding came to an end after she said I do  . We were talking about ceremony stuff and as a joke I threw the idea of a Star Wars wedding out there. She laughed it off, but then she competely through me off guard by suggesting that I wear a Master Chief helmet with a tux. I thought she was joking, but she actually likes the idea of me and my groomsmen all dressed in tuxedos and helmets. Her only stipulation was I had to take mine off for the ceremony, apparently she wants to make sure it's me she's marrying. So Im wondering what you guys think about this? Is it too goofy or something cool? I know the guys in my wedding party would be all for it since they are all big Halo players.

If I do decide to go for it, I was wondering if anyone here might be able to help me out with the acquisition of five helmets. Im not looking for any sort of handout or deal, and Im not looking to have all five tommorow. I would make them out of pep, but for something as big as this I want them to look as good as possible. Price really isn't an issue since I have some time to save up and for a unique wedding it will be worth it. I know this isn't a site for buying/selling anything, so Im not even sure I should be posting something like this, so if I screwed up let me know and I'll edit this post. I just figured after seeing the work that has been done by the talented people on this site that this would be the best place to turn.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this far. If anyone might be willing to help me please send me a PM, and if I made this post in error let me know so I can fix it.

if she's cool with it, it'd probably get you some good press.

sweeeetttt!!!! man, ya i think the guys might rent you a few helms if they live near you.

I think it was adam that posted a pic of a wedding with star wars costumes and stuff. It was funny.

I think that borrowing is a great idea, or maybe some of the molders on here can give you a commission deal.

Haha that sounds sweet. Congratulations. Hope we get to see some pics. Oh, and I'd advise rigging up some fans, you dont want to be all sweaty when you go to take it off, lol.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I am going to do it, its just to good of an opportunity to pass up. Im only going to do the helmets so its at least semi traditional and it seems like full armor might be a little awkward. She won't wear a helmet though, she's already set on her dress and Im not going to push my luck with that, although I did suggest she dress like Cortana :p . I won't need all the helmets for about two years, December 5th 2009 to be exact, but I was hoping to get mine sooner so I can show my guys what Im talking about and help sell the idea to my family. Anyway, thanks for the response, I'll keep you posted, and I'll definately post some pics and videos after the wedding.

That wedding would be the coolest thing EVER!
I cant believe your girlfriend is letting you do this! I wish we could all find women who would be willing to have a halo wedding...

i could probably have them all ready before the end of the summer. my reasoning for waiting to make one until summer is i will be able to work outside where there's more room...and not -36 degree weather. again let me know if youre interested.

"Local couple gets married in costume!"

I'm sure the newspapers would do it in the local/brag section if you guys actually go with it.

I would suggest trying to contact Sean Bradley, He makes excellent helmets and is a moderator around these parts ;).

Huh? Me? I do make some nice helmets, but I'm not producing full armor at the moment. Possibly by the date you need it though..

Lemme know if you have any trouble finding suits... have you tried Briars Armor, or Westerfield?

Keep in mind too that Rubies will be selling full Master Chief suits possibly as soon as this Halloween. The Helmets are awful, but if you're on a tight budget the suits might be economical...

.. just be sure to replace the helmets! ;)
