I am starting work on my armor set...thuis site has a ton of awsome information and helpful tuts...im confident im ready to do this....not too sure my talent is up to snuff but we shall see....my question is:

is it non haloitically correct to mix peices from different sets to make the armor set...i really like certain peices of the Mark 6 set..and parts of the scout set..as well as parts of the odst sets...so is it considered wrong..or non cannon to blend the sets?... just wondering...would hate to make a costume that i spent tons of time on and have it be un haloiticaly correct..lol...

as soon as i figure out how to post pics ill begin to log my progress. nm i figured it out..these pics r of the testor for the hand plates...wanted to see if i could fold..and if sclae was right....do they seem a tad bit large to you?

So i can pretty much make any kind of perm i want as long as it uses the armor sets from the pep files..is that correct?
if so im begining to compile my armor a peice at a time...so far i really like the rouge helmet...and the hand peices from the odst set and the boots from odst...evrything else im undecided about as of yet..but ill get er together and begin making at once

just want to make sure ill b happy w the end result before i begin the build

ok here is a update on progress of armor...
made mistake and prionted scout helmet instead of rouge..so im gonna have a dispay scout lol
its also going to be a bit small for my noggin so it souldnt work any way..but printed out 12 pages may as well learn to fold pep by assymbling it....so here r the updated pics of my progress..or sould i say degress...nah its progress none the less..im learnin to fold paper..so does that make me a pepagami novice? muhahaah

if you notice one pic has l;abeled reinforcements...wehn i folded the pep i noticed it tended to sag a bit and loose its shape so im double layering the card stock...anyone else have this issue w pep?...does the double layering help?...

I don't see anything wrong with it. AHAH just like in Halo 3 when you can customize. I like the idea.
exactly but none else i have seen on this forum has done that so i was worried it would be a big tabooo:O

I think it would be just fine. Right now i'm building a mutant Sniper Rifle child. I'm blending the H2 and H3 models together. This is a costuming site for the love of Halo, your here to be creative, no? Go ahead and mix it up, i'm sure it will look outstanding! oh and those tester handplates DO seem a tad big ;)

Well what your talking about is only permutations of the Mark VI armor which is sported in Halo 3.
I think it would be perfectly canon for you to make mix and match suit.
Ultimately it is your armor and you must make it to suit you and make you happy. If you want a suit that has hayabusa chest scout shoulders and rogue helmet then that is what you make - everyone will still applaud you.
PS: I think your hand piece is a little big

Well I cant find any good referance pics right now but ill post some when I get home from work if you still need them. Oh and friendly word of advice: Dont Double Post! :]

I just mean that as you complete your armor you will be appreciated and praised, people will be happy to see your work no matter what suit you make.
I don't see how anyone would take offense to you making armor that you like / prefer.
I am a noob myself so don't be too intimidated. People around here are really willing to help - however they just prefer you to do a little homework and read the stickies - you know people don't like to reiterate available information 1000 times.
In case it hasn't been done welcome to the 405th enjoy your stay.

why would you get banned for a mutant spartan set? Creativity is dying in this world, and you have a flame to re-light it! BE A LEADER!!! :D

i would like to see a hybrid suit, after all, that is why Bungie made the permutation option, but thats getting old.

ODST shins on a SPARTAN II would look schweet.

it's your armor, be as creative as you want. People won't mind, they like seeing new things.

The question is.. yes, but is it "canon"?

A general rule of thumb is that if it appears in a Halo game, (ie- you can take screen shots of it.. multiplayer or otherwise) and it wasn't included as a gag (ie.. like the half-naked designer in a towel image hidden in that cave on the Last level).. then it's Canon.

So yeah, you're fine.

ok scout helm 90% completely folded n glued...god these things reallly do take alot of time for a noob to fold and it look like itas not glued by a 4 yr old..........lol.....but having realised it wouldnt fit my head un resin/glassed..it is gonna b part of my little brothers halloween ansamble....so ill finish w it tomorrow n post pics...but hold off on glassing till i have both sets done...

i hope i got the scale right on my rogue helmet this time...this will b the 5th helmet ive printed and folded and wasted. :(
tommorow night ioll begin cutting the rogue out and hopefully get a wearabe ehlm this time..if not..someone w a better understanding than my illiterate butt needs to gift me the ability to scale a helm to my pumkin head..... anyway..more to come

new things huh...im triing to figure a ventalation method for thew scout helm..as my little brother is bad diabetic..so need to keep him cool...im toiing w idea of drilling a few holes in the top along that square depression...then maybe fabijng a secong blank of that same depression and over laing the drilled first depression w it only at an angle.. hm that wouldnt vchange the look of the helm..so would keep it canon..but would it help regulate heat...man its strange how the sleep deprived human mind begins to break down things and make it more complicated than it needs to be lmao...

anyway you all will have to overlook my typist..hes illiterate but i can spell.
