after you are done fiberglassing the shoulder, just cut the part you dont want with a dremel. That way, you keep the MK VI shoulder just in case.

If you are talking about the regular Spartan shoulder, just cut it off when you're done fiberglassing. If you're talking about the EVA shoulder, make it first, to your body size, then make the bicep piece, not both at once (at least that's my advice). Good luck!
