So far it's saying accidental.. Reports still coming out.. I thought he was really great in the Patriot.. It's sad to see someones life to be cut so soon at the age of 28.. It just goes to show, when it's time.. It's time.. RIP! Heath!

My buddy just called me a told me what happened. I didn't believe him till I turned on the news.

This is a very sad day.

To me, from what you can see of him playing the Joker, he was going to win awards for that role.

Wouldnt he already be the joker since the movie was already shot?

they've already filmed it (i think) but what Sean meant was that there probably was going to be 2 or 3 batman movies with the Joker.

More details are out now. The found him in Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment, very likely drug-related. They found lots of pills. :(

Reminds me a bit of when Brandon Lee died while filming the Crow.. I guess it's just the make-up..
This sucks. I've always defended his acting talent amongst my friends who until he won all those awards for Brokeback Mt. bad mouthed him as being small time. Now once his career is finally taking off, he's gone.

I think they said now that the apartment was owned my Mary-Kate, and he was renting. Not sure on that, but that was discussed on the news. The pills from what I saw on the news also were said to be prescription pain killers, again not confirmed. They are saying it looks definitely an accident and that he had pneumonia. They'll wait till the autopsy comes out to say anything definite.

Brandon Lee was a sad loss too, and I loved the Crow movie. Someone also compared this to River Phoenix(sp). I don't remember much about that one, but I do remember hearing about it a few years back.

IMDB says that Heath was still filming another movie slated for a 2009 release called The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. They've also updated his date of dead since the last time I looked at it about 2 hours ago. I hated seeing all those people swarming that building like vultures wanting for a photo op. Just plain despicable.

If the do delay the release of the movie, it'll be to put some sort of tribute in the beginning/end of the film. I recommend that everyone stay in the movie till the credits completely finish out of respect for a great actor. Also, I bet they'll be a tribute at the Oscars.

I was really disturbed by this, it's really messed up. All I can say is memento mori. I just hope someone else cool doesn't die, like Johnny Depp or Christian Bale. Cuz they've both been in really messed up drug related movies, and they're both my heros.

holy **************** that guy played knights tale i love that movie .lol broke bak lol i hate that movie . thats werd

I was talking more about another young talent cut down in their prime, but you know, whatever. You're so right, bullets ARE different! :cautious:

f I'm being an ass here, stop me, but to be honest I really, really don't care.

True, it's a shame he died, but at the end of the day, he's just another guy. He just happened to act as a job rather than, say, be some street cleaner. And it might just be that every single person I know has rammed this in my face, but I'm quite tired of hearing about it.

I respect the man for the work he did, yes. I feel sorry for his passing away, yes. But I refuse to make a big fuss over it - people die all the time, and if that makes me insensitive, then call me Borg.

i feel the same exact way.

Also Sean sorry if it seems like i was being rude. What i mean was that Brandon lee was shot rather than taking drugs by Heath. Self inflicted vs. accidental shooting. That was my point. but i do understand what you mean :)

I was just teasing.. :D

Brandon Lee died and never saw the success of the most successful movie he starred in. I wonder how The Dark Knight will do at the box office? I can't imagine that it'll do better than some of Heath Ledgers prievious films... he's been in some very sucessful movies.

Ok they said that when he played the joker it had a major effect over him and that he couldn't sleep so he took some sleeping pills and people think he had an overdose. Yes the movie is already filmed and coming out in july (in NZ) so don't worry the movie still moves on.
