Help from someone with experience?

I'm looking to make a Hayabusa suit for RTX and this upcoming Halloween as a graduation present to myself. I have Metasequoia to make 3D models, and of course Pepakura to do the rest. Was wondering if anyone out there with more experience than me has any tips and/or tricks? Gonna use the white's suit with the green's shoulders.
