you might want to try the paper mache technique. Regular glue would be best as titebond is a wood glue and is a bit on the thick side. you will need something a little runnier. Take strips of either paper (Newspaper is best) or cloth (An old T-shirt will work) about 2 inches wide and no more that 4 inches long. Anything longer gets harder to work with. Saturate the paper/cloth but not to the point of dripping and layer in to the helmet crisscrossing over each strip. Once the whole thing is layered, let dry completely overnight. Don't add another too soon as it will soak the pep paper of the helmet and it might warp. We want to avoid that from happening. Do 2-3 layers in total letting each layer dry between applications. If your doing paper, go w/ 3. Cloth only 2 as it will add a lot of weight. Once that is done.......its time to bondo the outside.
