Usually it's alot faster than this..Any reasons why??

Disk clean up, defrag, and try taking unneeded files off, basically just clean out your computer. Once you do that, see whats going on and report.

=O!!
Yeah clean your computer off. Reset router maybe, or call you internet provider and ask them about it.
I had the same problem I believe, but with Verizon FIOs.

Its because you have windstream, and they're an absolutly horible excuse for an ip.

But then there the only one in my town so some internet is better than none.

You may have capped your download limit? Or its just you ISP stuffing you around (Telstra likes to do that...)

Start, Run, type" cmd.exe " (without ""), it will open a window that looks like msdos, Type "ipconfig/ flushdns" (without quotes), press enter, then type "ipconfig/ release", press enter, then type "ipconfig/ renew" and press enter. Close the cmd window and your connection should improve slightly.

More info about your isp (internet service provider), and your type of internet connection ie. wireless, cable modem, etc. would be helpful to diagnose your specific issue. The recent hurricane chain may have something to do with it as well, Ike has been messing with the wireless transmitters in my area (Central TX).

Ike isn't gonna mess with us all the way in georgia..

And we found the problem..it's our stupid provider who isn't keeping their stuff working right..

I have Windstream, too. Yesterday I was without internet for a few hours. When I called they said 'all' of their servers were down, they couldn't even get on there database to do anything. It seems to be running fine now, though. This company is really starting to make me mad, it seems like every other week the internet is down.

Apparently my windstream place in Atlanta was struck by lightning and they are repairing it atm.
