hi

i only really need 1 answer

how do i scale helmets?

do i measure my head in cm then scale the helmet to that number with a 0 on the end?

reason being ive never measured and scaled a helmet before

thanks

I just measure the height of my head (crest to chin) and put it in the box which says 'Height', but I'm not sure if that's how you're meant to do it.

It really depends on which helmet you're doing.

im making a combine metro cop helmet/gasmask

here's what it's scaled to

k i really dont know how to scale

i scaled the hight to 250mm

then it was to thin

then i scaled the width to 220 and now its like a foot long

wtf how do i scale this

Just stick to changing one of the values, the rest of the width/depth values will change proportionately. Just keep trying, there honestly isn't a "one size fits all" method to scale anything in pepakura. Try to measure your head to get a rough idea of what size you should be looking at, and of course add a few cm for room to put padding and whatever else inside.

If you feel like you're wasting your time with wrongly scaled pieces, don't. You're getting in good pep practice, something all of us could use. Heck, I built 4 Mark VI boots before I found the scale I liked.

The reason you're getting a weird scale is because of the gasmask piece on the bottom. When you are measuring your head, just eyeball where the piece would be and measure from there instead.
