How Do You Reinforce Open Edges?

Hey I was wondering, when fiberglassing a pep piece like the inside of a helm, or backside of some of the lower resolution models, how do you reinforce open edges?

I use bondo. or For open edges put more coats of fiber glass. If your talking about a hole in the helm or armor then just fill it with bondo and sand it down.
