Hello all! First I want to say thanks to everyone on here for their help and guidance!

Now to my question: I currently am fiberglassing a few pieces of my armor. I have two layers of the mat on them now and they are very hard. Everywhere I've searched I cannot find what the recommended amount of layers should be. I've seen some people say no need for mat, just resin (which I know is a big no-no) and some people saying I need 10 layers ( i think that's a bit extreme). Can someone give me some guidance here? Thanks!

i find it all depends on what piece you are doing. feet, calves, thighs, and belt/crotch/butt pieces need more due to them taking the most damage. your helmet will need lots because it needs to have a good amount of room to carve details. and your torso/arms should have less because you want them to be lighter for obvious reasons.

the main questions i ask are (with the "if yes" awnsers in brackets)...

-is it in a damaging area? (more fiberglass)

-will it have important details? (more fiberglass)

-will it need to be light? (less fiberglass)

-is it currently a tight fit (less FG, re-pep, or cut into sections)
