you need a vocoder

It's called "auto-tune." I'm pretty sure you can do it in Garage Band on the Mac.

Yeah, vocoder and autotune, but T-Pain did not start the trend, it's been around for a long time. Daft Punk has used programs like it, and of course others. It's not hard, thats why anyone without talent can sing.

I saw something on tv about it once, apparently Madonna was the first major musician to use it.
