I was spot putting today and this has never happen to me before. I read the back and it said my cause headache and magical I had a headache 10min after. First time I've used resin same problem. Ofcourse respirator is the safes way to go. But do human develop tolerance level to chemical?

ummm....i wouldnt use that with out a respirator.....it can cause terrible damage to your insides.....

You should look up the product online for the MSDS That's the Material Data Safety Sheet. It will give you all kinds of facts. To answer your question, usually the answer is no.
I have used spot putty a lot on cars and bikes didn't start using it on armor and props till I came here. I can say without a doubt the stuff smells bad and the fumes are not good for you. I tend to apply it outside then leave the item outside away from me until it is cured. Hope this helps

Glazing and Spot Putty MSDS

Inhalation Toxicity: Highly toxic! Can cause systemic damage (see "Target Organs" ). Respiratory failure
is possible at high doses. Inhalation of high concentrations may result in central nervous system (CNS)
effects such as dizziness, weakness, fatigue, nausea, headache, and lack of coordination.

ALWAYS USE PROPER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT!

The only tolerance humans develop is cancer...

Imagine drinking beer, you get drunk, right? Your all dizzy etc. Because the alcohol is blocking your system.
Now imagine the resin fumes in your brain, in some cases they can clog your brains so bad, that you might get paralyzed.
Inable to move because the Fumes are blocking your brains. Or worse... Death

This is why you have a headache. Wear a respirator

I think it is very good how cautious this site is about respirator usage for your own health and safety.
It shows that they want you to make armor, but they also want you to survive it aswell, and i respect that.

But in my opinion, im not going to use one, i have handled resin alot before. and it never previously has made me feel odd in the slightest, i cant go round wasting money on something that i wont ever use after my armor is done.

But this is nothing to do with the site, i am taking full responsibility for what Might/will happen to me.

But i would highly reccomend using one, as you can see, the site is strict on it. so it shows how dangerous it is to not use one.

And PS. Dont flame this post saying i must use one. this is my choice, and i am taking responsibility for it. but i am NOT wasting £20 on something that ill use once.

at least wrap something around your mouth/nose. and wear a painter mask, it'll protect from large debris and stuff. don't go without SOMETHING. thats just plain stupid.

you probably aren't getting a high concentration of fumes, which is why you aren't feeling dizzy. that's good. now end this thread.

Not 'might', will happen to you.
It's like taking cocaine, or tabacco, it leaves you permanent damage in your respiration system, but also destroys (not kidding) millions of brain cells each time you use it. You might not notice it after a couple of times, since you have bilions of brain cells..

On a side note (in b4 lock) chemicals like resin don't filter out of the body, they build up in your systems each and EVERY time you use them. The more you work with it the more of it get into you. 20 bucks now, or 20,000 later in medical bills.... The choice is yours.
