I'm getting Promoted

This is off topic but I wanted to share and since I am a newbie I have to share here. After about a year or so of being a SGT promotable I have finally been picked up for my E6 in the US Army. Doubt anyone cares but I wanted to share with someone, my family could give a wet slap.

Need to talk to someone about changing my screen name to SSG V

Now, bear with me as I'm in Canada and so am not too familiar with the US military ranking system (it probably wouldn't be too different from what we have up here, but I'm not familiar with ours either, LOL).

So then, what's this "E6" rating you speak of? What's that do for you? What are it's benefits? Also, what's the abbreviation "SSG" stand for?

I understand "SGT" stands for "Sargeant", but the other one escapes me... lol

Indeed! You're doing your country proud by doing your part, and you're doing us proud by being the real deal! What I mean is, it says a lot to have a bonafide military man (of which I think there are a few others here, too) join the "ranks" of the 405th...

the SSG is Staff Sargeant

the E6 is is Enlisted 6

I think im correct im only a ms 1 Army ROTC cadet

Im sure it a low stress job (during peace) i cant really see a LT coming up to you saying the the pictures are crap and you have to take them again
