Introducing myself - Jun A266 build (with all of Noble team)

First time poster, but been in the group for a while. Joined close to a year ago after finally starting on my Jun build (for the second time). Wasn't sure how the year would play out with it all, but my group managed to finish Noble team and show up to Dragon Con as a whole. This was the first iteration with alot of learnings along the way, already have a couple pieces being remade myself, and I know some of the group is doing the same.

All but Noble 6 are 3D printed.

Jun files are exclusively from Instinct Creative on IG
Carter (Dat Boi Builds ), Emile and Kat all have Instinct Creative Helmet files with Nerdforge armor files
Jorge is all Nerdforge files head to toe.
Noble 6 is an all foam build, some INSANE foam work from KitKatGoose .

For all the 3D printed suits, we are rocking full rubber undersuits that were cast from a 3D printed mold, again created by Instinct Creative and all spearheaded by Dat Boi Builds . They are HOT, which made it extremely difficult over the weekend in ATL with all the high temps and humidity. We were only able to get limited time in the suits as a result. But with upgrades coming, and planning for much cooler weather conventions, you should see alot more from our group. Not sure how many of us are in this forum, so unable to tag everyone currently.

I find it incredibly impressive that all 6 of you made it to the finish line. Crafting a Halo suit, especially six of them, is some serious time dedication. I would love more details regarding the logistics of this project. How did you all meet? Did anyone wanna throw in the towel halfway through? What was the workload like person-to-person? Any major setbacks along the way?

Otherwise, the end result was totally worth it. Everything looks very cohesive; I love the LEDs.

Thank you! This project, for myself at least, has a long back story.

Originally planned with myself and 5 others about 2 years ago, I printed the entire suit and then the project completely fell apart from everyone else. After sitting on the printed suit for a year I finally decided to part ways with it because no one else was taking it serious, sold the raw print for dirt cheap. About 2 months later I was talking with a group of friends on Instagram and there were 100% into picking it up and making it happen again. I reprinted the suit this time around using Instinct Creative files.

Along the way we did have one person back out completely about 2.5 months from the deadline, but we had a handler for the trip that said he would pick it up and make it happen (our Kat). So that suit from start to finish was done in around 2 months. 2 of the guys live 20 minutes from each other so were able to tag team the build and get it done impressively quick.

About 3 weeks out our Noble 6 let us know that he wasn't going to make the deadline as well. That's when we reached out to KitKat to see if she would be interested in filling that spot for us. She had some repairs to do on her suit, but managed to make it happen with some long nights herself and joined us at Dragon Con. Last minute fill in, but couldn't have asked for a better person and suit to jump in last minute like she did. Her suit is insanely impressive!

For the remaining 4 of us, we started our suits about 10 months ago give or take. Carter being the first one done as he was spear heading the rubber under suits and was arguably the most excited to make this happen. After he finished Carter he worked on all our other under suits while we finished our suit builds. I made the drive up to Ohio from NC about a month ago to pickup my under suit and do a test fitting with the group, then went back home and finished everything up as did everyone else.

Having 1 person doing the under suits would make building a Spartan worth it for me. The cool thing about group projects is having specialists that do certain tasks. A suit being done in 2 months between a few people is awesome. Thank you for answering my questions. Perhaps one day I'll be inspired to do a squad build. I can imagine a game-accurate ODST squad in my future.

Yeah him taking the lead there was a huge help for the rest of us, but man did he work is hump off to get us all to the finish line. Its totally worth it in the long run if you do it!
I'm already making a few modifications to Jun and then hopefully would like to make a full custom spartan suit for myself too. Maybe fire up Reach and see what character I had setup last in there. Few other things I would like to do different, but am super pleased with how it all came together and I learned ALOT from this build that I hadn't already learned in my years of cosplay making.

Thank you! Hoping to be able to get together and do more for sure. Dragon Con was our first run in the suits and learned a lot. Updates coming and no more hot conventions! LOL

Everything you accomplished is truly impressive, especially in that time frame. You should all be proud. You all look astounding. Wish I could have seen it in person.

I'm especially in awe at the paint job and the weathering. Holy cow. I see subtle notes of dirt and discoloration. All the details so thoughtfully realized.

Seriously have me considering dropping $200 on a gallon of Dragonskin and attempting a silicone suit myself, but I'm a long way from that.

What is the material you used for Jun's collar? My multiplayer SPARTAN uses that torso attachment and I'd been thinking it was a camo net.

Thank you man, really appreciate that! Weathering was definitely the most fun part, really started to pull it all together in the end. Was worried when Jun was just color because it all seemed off, but the weathering knocked it all down to what I consider the near perfect color for him. Dragon skin is definitely a hefty expense, but well worth the results once you have it locked down.

As for the scarff, it was just an Amazon buy. Green chamo tactical mesh scarff. Weathered it some with some alcohol inks and paint (think it still needs a little more personally) then frayed the edges to give it a better warn look.
