I have to warn you, this is a more realistic version than in the show (duh) I tried to make it look as zimmish as possible, but still retaining some logic in his build. Alright here...

Those holes on the top of the head are where the antennea (sp?) go.

Yep, I'd say that doesn't look a whole lot like Zim, but it's a good foundation to build on.

You should cartoon him out a little more.. the realism of this I think is whats kinda strange looking.

Have you every seen the guy who photoshops cartoon and videogame characters to look photorealistic? "Untooning?" It could help you determine that balance between realism and toonishness: http://pixeloo.blogspot.com/

Nah, I'm really redesigning him from the ground up, and (for the most part) making his face look like zim's voice could very easily come out of. That's the problem with Jonen's style, while awsome, it's hard to tell one character from another with ful color. There's no detail to make a character LOOK like a character. If I were to model A JV zim, it could have just as easily been some other irken soldier that looks just like him in the background of the first episode (there were a lot of clones there). I'm sketching out what they would look like on paper with nothing in my head but their voice...

I do admit, I might need put in a little elements of Richard Horvitz in his face, too.

But that guy is AWSOME.

Real life stewie ftw!

But really, I'm not trying to do what he did. Dure the real life mario looks like Mario, but would you expect to see someone like that in real life who doesn't have some sort o disorder?
