so when i made my helmet i uped it by 20 so i did the same thing withe the neckseal but it wont fit over my head :( so can some on give me some advice on this should i keep making it then after i fiberglass it cut it down the middle and use magnets to keep it together or should i try and scale it up more?

i thought the same thing but i cant scale it uup any bigger b/c there is is one piece at the top of that is one big piece and i dont think i can divide it with a tap b/c i dont have the payed for pep program

I've been thinking about this too... I was thinking of going with XtremeTactics101's tut with the EVA foam so it could just wrap around.

I would just kind of cut it and shape it, and probably overlay some pep stuff. The only problem with that is

painting the foam, and I don't know how it would hold up.

EDIT: I wouldn't scale it up too much, although if you could possibly find a discreet place to cut it so it could wrap around your neck.

And molding is NOT an option for me either, although that may produce the best-looking result.

Best of luck!

cut it in half and atach it with buckles

This.If you buckle it at the top, it may fit in the helmet, and at the bottom, it may fit in the torso piece, saving on unsightly buckles that shouldnt be there...

OR you could use a sort of bra-hook system INSIDE the neck parts...(Can't think of any other term than bra-hook or corset hook, so that'll have to do...)

your thinking of a hook-and-eyelet attachment. usually only works with some tension on it, like on bras and corsets. personally i wouldnt want any tension around my neck, gives me headaches. but it wouldnt take much tension to make it work, just enough to keep the pieces from moving towards each other.

My suit i plan on doing like the original movie armors neck. Itll open up into two equal parts. The rear part is a little longer so that it goes behind the front piece. That will also give it the layered look without having to worry about exposing any open seams or anything. Here is a pic:

Like i said, the neck opens up, and the back part of the neck will slide behind the front. Since the neck is already layered (best seen in dancin_fools neck file) it would work perfectly for anyone trying to have a neck that doesnt have to be scaled too large.

I have plenty more pictures of the armor where that one came from. Ive been meaning to download them to my picture gallery so i can have some pictures up for everyone in case they need some reference pictures. Either way, i will also be updating once i get to the bondo stage of my own thread (with detail pics) to provide some insight and hopefuly get lots of feedback from everyone. But if anyone does need a specific pic in general of an area on iron man ill try to help out if i have one in my folders....just be sure to pm me.

On the movie suit the neck was made from latex or silicone and could stretch over the head. That is what I'm going to try and do.
