Hey guys ,

so I started a thread last week about using Jesmonite for my MKVI armour and I have not been disappointed.

I have a few pictures showing what it looks like after the application and using the Jesmonite inside the helmet with fiberglass.

So i received the Jesmonite this morning opened my package to find 2 packets.. one of powder and one of a liquid..

I mixed it with 2.5 parts powder against 1 part liquid and found the consistency very runny.

BEST THING I LIKED ABOUT THIS STUFF... NO SMELL, NO TOXIC FUMES NOTHING.

I have already made a few things with resin and am finding this stuff even harder than fiberglass resin.

I also received some tips with my package, on how you can shape it within the first 48 hours.. wow.. I can skip a few parts and still have the strength as before.

I will update on the sanding tomorrow

It looks a little rough on the outside. Looks like it will require a lot of bondo...unless you plan on using jesmonite to smooth it out. How many layers did you put on the outside? I would also be curious about the weight ratio with resin and bondo.

I dont notice any warping. Could be promising for those who want to avoid fumes. Definately let us know how it works out.

It looks almost like a bumpy plaster, Im actually surprised at how lumpy it came out. But if sanding works well on it and you dont have to bondo it to get the same result, then im sold on this material. Looking forward to seeing pics of how sanding it turns out.

This does look interesting. I'd be really interested in a strength test against fiberglass and Bondo.

It's a little heavier than resin ad bondo but not by much .. I also have 4 layers of it on the outside as I built up a few layers so I can sand Inthe detail.. It's So hard I stood on it and it was fine :) I'm a BIG lad ha ... It's 1 am here so ill do sanding tomorrow and let you know

It's crazy because I can still sand.. I've done a bit of the top of it and its seriously smooth.. Loving this stuff .. Wanna see what it's like with paint and everything after 48 hrs which is the full cure time

This stuff is incredible to sand and don't even need bondo.

Ill upload a pic properly tomorrow but check here on my instagram
