Lacquer finish?

Hey everyone, so I'm at the painting stage of some armour parts of my halo build.

I've plasti-dipped and put the first layer on but I'm wondering if I seal it with a lacquer of any kind like I did with my power ranger helmets or do I use something else?

It all depends on the process you're going through. For example, will you be doing any subtractive paint chipping, where you half a silver base coat and colour on top and mask/sand to reveal the silver below?
I generally clear coat when I want to protect the surface of paint that's on there now. If I'm weathering, masking, or if it's the final layer, I'll give it a clear coat.
