Led's And Fans

Ok just wanted to know what the best way to wire up my helm

would it be best wired:
LED's paralled
Fans paralled

or whould the circuits be best done in series?

it totally depends on your battery source, and the draw of your equipment.

IE, if you have a 3V bulb and a 6V battery, wire the bulbs in series.

If its the same way with 12V fans, wire the fans in parrallell, and the batteries in series.

Catch my drift? Like everything on this forum, NOTHING is standard, and almost NOTHING is done the same way twice.

Buy the components and test them in series and parrallell. See what way works best with what you have. All it will cost is a couple of 9v batteries. Dont forget resistors for the leds if needed. Buy a small electronics bread board and then you can mess around setting them up easily. Good luck.

IF you have automotive LED's (12v LED's that do not need resistors) then you should have them all in parallel with 1 switch controlling them all

Fans its up to you. Personally I would do them in parallel that way you can turn them on and off individually. 2 small computer fans you can buy at radio shack work great. 12 v fans.

A really good spot to put a fan is right behind the bil (depends on how large the helmet is) and cut slits between the detailing on the bottom side of the bil.

IF you have room you 'can' hook up 2 - 9v batteries in parallel, you will will be able to go longer without having to replace them(as opposed to having a single 9v battery hooked up). I would also apply velcro to the batteries and if at all possible have a replacement set inside of the helmet.

Series will give you a greater draw, but parallel will give you greater longevity. I would say to do a parallel series to make sure that you are getting enough voltage to power everything without needing to change batteries every few hours.
