They release information earlier this year about actual working predator movie style cloaking technology using intense microwaves. They basically cause light to flow around an object rather than bounce off of it. It designed for large scale objects like ships, buildings, tanks.
Releasing that much microwave energy would really cook a soldier in his shoes, so its a work in progress.
