My LOLCAT disapproves of pirate modifications to game consoles..

Oh god....A mod hater.

Anyone read my post on irrational opinions?

Besides, I think this is for the PC.

As long as modders don't ruin the game for people who aren't modding (like so many did with H2 on live) I don't have a problem with it.
I like the third person view, I wish that was actually in-game.

I'm not a "mod hater" in fact many of today's improvements in just about any area, are born from some kind of mod. I have done such things myself.

What I don't like is that its something against the law, it is against a license agreement accepted when the console was purchased and it demonstrates a rebellious attitude towards the people who work on the hardware/software.
Its a slap to the face that says, I don't feel like paying for this, therefore I'll just copy it.

If every game you have on your xbox hard drive is a rip form a game you bought, I don't really care then, except for, why go through so much trouble to put them in a volatile storage system such as a hard rive, instead of using the discs.

Now if like most modders, you just rip borrowed/rented games to skip paying for them, don't expect me to give you a pat on the back, especially since chances are, you're not really using any skills in electronics to achieve your modding, and are simply downloading "xecuters" and installing chips that other people create.

And the song, is just lame.

iiii wouldnt say it shows a "rebelious attitude" at all

id say it shows a creative attitude someone who wants to explore wants to see what they can do if they slightly adjust something or tweak without trying to break it i dont really know how any of that work goes so i can really say anything about it

but damn they are some smart ppl and i wish i could have a mind able to do it wit some of the mods and hacks ive seen

and i wouldnt really say you pay for a licensing agreement when the system/game is baught...id morely say you pay for the SYSTEM and the hardware containd in it itself or the game

you dont HAVE to obide by it....they just kinda....trust you will or kinda want you to

i kinda agree. I have games installed on my psp from the internet, but not retailed games, only ones created by modders who aren't selling them. ripping them without paying is down-to-the-line stealing

You're just confirming that you didn't steal it, you're just in the possession of stolen property
Same difference, and technically, you could get in trouble for it. Just saying, that no matter how you dress it up, its still wrong. :D

reddragon, the last part in any ULA says, if you don't agree with the terms in it, that you should return the item to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Its either YES or NO, there's no Maybe. By using it, you signed that you agree with the terms, and violating them gives the company permission to rip you a new one.

Your Xbox look extremely similar to mine, except for the dashboard background.

I don't really want to argue with someone who has a prejudice against modding because of the moronic Halo 2 LIVE modders. Just because he has a modded Xbox doesn't mean that everything is automaticly pirated. I have 2 modded Xbox's, both of which have NO PIRATED CONTENT. I made some backups of my games because sometimes games get scratched or broken. I own all of the games I backed up though.

I'm for modding as long as it's not on LIVE, and it doesn't involve pirating.

its quoted for truth, I believe.

Well the reason i pick that song is to show my friends that i did it.
Cause we all sing it at school. lol

the song is bit inappropriate, but i don't have much problem with it, since you warned everyone about it and you can mute it. nice mod btw

If you have a clear conscience that you don't have any pirated material, you don't really even need to consider any of my previous comments.
But I still think, if someone is really "creative" get a job developing, and get paid for it instead of just labeling yourself a "modder" That's what dev kits are for.
This might not apply to everyone in the bracket, but I don't see any advantage in modding an xbox other than the "OMG, I wanna do that too" perception. I never had the need to back up a game in my life. :D
