I really should get back into posting. I did start a 'Project Reach' quite a while ago, but it turned out I was building Master Chief all this time (With a grenadier helmet and purple/blue visor). I was always meaning to post progress pictures but lost alot on a corrupted hard drive. Despite that I have photos of my 'final but not final' project. I seek to do something to cover up my under armour/gut. I would like to add some electronics in the chest. Thats the glory of it. You can always build, build, build. Although the pics are here, my signature has the photos.

I have put alot of hardwork into this suit and it has paid off. I was lucky to win first place at the EB Expo 2013 Just Cos' comp. I was lucky to be given the opportunity to work for Xbox Australia to bring in the "first Xbox One" by boat as the Master Chief Himself on the midnight launch. I would love to get this more detailed, come release of Halo/Halo5/Nexthalogame. Saying that, I have embarked on a Titanfall Pilot project. This big fella here convinced me to...

ME AND ATLAS.

It is always good to do shout outs to those that help make it possible. Grenadier Helmet: ForgedReclaimer. Unfold by Brandon McClain. This helmet has been great for my big head! I made the chest 50/50 pepakura/foam (best of both worlds). Kingrahls chest piece served me well whilst I worked on the foam for flexibility. I think other foam pieces came from his unfolds e.g boot, shin, thighs. Oh an the MC Butt/shoulders - monkeyfuj with foam unfold Ranbowdash. Seriously foam building is the best. Great on flexibility.

An image that is sole rights to the photographer, but I photoshopped it to make it more epic!

Sometimes I wish I did install a gold visor. Can always photoshop....

WINNING FIRST! I find it awesome that Cortana came first on the Friday and I came first on the Saturday. Moral of the story. Halo builds always come first!

Cheers guys. Yep, for Xbox to say my suit was pretty cool, and for it to be used (EPIC!)

I turned the Xbox on and was featured in menu for Eb Expo when it was on.

HANDS:

It's great to go into the hardrware store (Bunnings) and come across something suitable.

IMG-20130630-WA0000.jpg

ALOT OF PEOPLE LIKE TO GO FINGERLESS BUT I COULDN'T DO THAT WITH MC. I EVEN TRIED THE FINGERTIPS IN RESIN WHICH WORKED OUT PRETTY WELL. ALWAYS HARD TO DO STUFF WHEN ON. I DID CHEAT, HOWEVER, AND PUT A SLIT UNDER ONE SO I COULD POP MY FINGER OUT FOR PHONE PRIVILEGES.

IMAG1527.jpg

I USED THE SAME PROCESS AS RESIN, BONDO THOUGH A BIT MORE FIDDLY. TO STICK THEM ON I LAVA'D HOT GLUE INTO THE TIPS AND PRESSED THE GLOVE INTO THEM (WHILST WEARING THEM). I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS, BUT I NEEDED THEM TO FIT WELL.

HELMET:

The helmet was the first thing I started. With initial intentions of building a Halo Reach customized suit, I ended going towards Halo 4 MC style.

Once fibreglassed, I opted for a bicycle helmet (Cheap one from K-mart),

HACKED UP!

DSCN2760.jpg

I KNEW THE GRENADIER JAW TABS LOOKED BRITTLE SO USED THE METAL PARTS OF USED (FIBREGLASSED BRUSHES) TO SLIDE IN. NOW TOUGH AS NAILS. ITS GREAT BEING ABLE TO USE FOUND OBJECTS AND USE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN TO ACHIEVE END RESULT.

DSCN2760.jpg

I INSTALLED A VISOR (CHEAP ONE FROM EBAY) AS WELL AS SOME ELECTRONICS (FAN AND LIGHTS). I USED 2 X 6V RECHARGE BATTERIES IN SERIES TO ACHIEVE 12V. ALL POWER HOUSED IN HELMET. I WIRED IT SO THAT I CAN HAVE EITHER FAN OR LIGHTS, OR BOTH.

OVERALL ONCE CLIPPED ON, THE HELMET IS QUITE COMFORTABLE.
DSCN2790.jpg

I FIND WITH THE BONDO I USE, IT IS EASIER TO SMEAR ON AND SMOOTH WITH PALM OF HAND, THAN USING A SCRAPER. HAS SAVED ME HEAPS OF HOURS SANDING LABOUR.
