Materials to use for casting?

I want to try and cast the individual pieces of an ODST suit I plan to make. That being said. What products from smooth-on or otherwise would you guys recommend for a beginner with molding and casting. I plan to use EVA foam as the sculpting portion for the armor.

You could try vacuum forming. it would be a little cheaper
