hey guys i got the wierless head set for 60 dollars i used it for about a month and it just stopped wanting to turn on so after realizing i lost my bill i cracked it open to see if i could some how fix it

what i saw inside this really pissed me off after opening it up youd think they would have some quality stuff in there but i found the most getto battery in the world

Not only that there is writing on battery

writing:

WARNING:
Fire, Explostion
And Severe Burn
Do Not Recharge
Crush, Disassemble,
Heat Above
(100 C/212 F)
Or Incinerate.(++)

id take a picture for you but unfortunatly my cameras are low quality

but i also found a video on this exact problem

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7DLKCwgaBKE

so my message to you dont buy it

I would contact Microsoft.

If they wont do anything about it, you could always threaten to sue them for endangering customers with cheap, faulty hardware.

Microsoft knows about the issue, and is "planning" a recall.
To yell at someone about it, call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX.
It won't help, but if they get enough of these calls, they might do something about it.

I have a headset designed for skype, and it is also at Wal-Mart for $14.99 or something. It is cheaper and has better sound quality.

Microsoft headset is just another bluetooth headset, a 60 dollar motorola headset would sound alot better and work better.

That is the strangest battery i have ever seen

OH MY GOD the guy in the video is such a technical NOOB! He doesn't even know how a battery works..

"Its just a bunch of paper inside, there's no cell"

Oh and the 360 does NOT use bluetooth so a phone headset won't work.

Um...double negative has me confused. I assume you meant 'does NOT'.

This is on the Xbox.com Production Information page for the Wireless Headset to back up what CPU64 said.

The headset utilizes the same 2.4 GHz radio technology employed by the award-winning Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for clear communications within a range of up to 30 feet.

Don't trust me, check for yourself here.

I get some interference on my house phone when the 360 headset is on near my wireless handset phone.

You also have to consider that the MICROSOFT mic will propably be used alot more then a bluetooth headset... I mean people game ALOT.

Yeah seriously... this is the comment i left him:

(comment before opening the battery):
You do know that if you would open up your phone battery it would propably look like the same... the batteries use an acid chemical (very dangerous) to store electricity... so dont break it... you might get a hospital trip.

Comment after he opened the battery:
Seriously how can you americans be so stupid (no offense) You need to go to the nurse to make sure you are safe...

Besides all batteries are designed the same way... it's sheets soaked in an acid liquid wich allow you to store electricity in them...
(the poisonous liquid stores the voltage).

First Bold: There are millions of Americans. Do you think Adam and Sean are stupid too? Once you've met every American, you can judge them. Even I, as an American, could not judge the whole American people in such a stereotypical way.

Second Bold: No offense, <offending statement.> 'No offense' is the most hypocritical phrase I, personally, can think of. It's like saying, "Hey, I won't go to jail if I apologize before/after commiting a crime!"

i think thats actually a supercapacitor, like some new PDA's use (capacitor is a conductive material with a gap to store charge, [foil paper foil ect])
anyway i am scared about putting it on charge now, capacitors arnt nice when they explode :(

Agreed.

Finnish you really need to knock it off with the "stupid" American comments. We really don't need another repeat of the last time do we?

Every battery is like that (one in the video) The only difference you're missing is the tin casing around it.
Did you know Polaroid cameras use that same type of foil battery? And did you ever think about WHERE in the camera that battery is?
Here's another one, did you know that a 9V battery has 6 tiny (AAAA?) 1.5V batteries inside?

And no that is not a capacitor, those don't hold charge long enough to be used as batteries.
