The heat shrink would'nt work since there's the possibility that you would cut off circulation if you do it that way.If you can pm me a refrence image of that character I am not familar with it but I know there is a discussion going on the characters on one of the sites I belong to but I don't think they have any 3d files yet I'll have to look first, obtain permission to use the character and after that it won't take me long at all. But back on the gloves if you put them on first you can use fabric paint and they have some fabric paint that gives it a raised effect when you apply a blow dryer to it. I've been doing costuming for about 8 years and been making Pepakura and PDF papercrafts for the last 4 years so I'm not new to this at all.

EDIT: Heres the link to where they are working on the characters from the wii game. Just waiting for the guy to release the model pack so I can start having fun.

OK. I'll have to look into it. Do you know of any good tutorial videos so I can see how the process works. I'm more of a visual/kinestetic person. Gotta see then do to learn.

BTW: This is just one pick to show so you know what I am talking about.

I don't have any tutorial vids of glove painting with fabric paint, I'm more of a "get a idea in my head and do it person".There are people on the www.cosplay.com forums that can tell you the best way to do it though. I'll add your request for that character to the list on that link.

OK. Here is a preview of the mask build. It is taking longer than expected due to the small parts and my big fingers. The pep is going well and I don't see any issue with the unfold so far. Will post another pic when I get further.

Sorry but I didn't get to finish the mask pep yesterday. Got a little sick. Took meds and was out for over 6 hours. I will see what I can do this week between work and school. I hope to have it finished soon. Once again sorry about the delay.

looking good anubis.. was it printed out without any adjustment to the scaling?

No adjustment to the scalling. Usually people scale things to a 6' person but the smaller pieces are giving me a hell of trouble. Big handed people BEWARE! This mask is difficult. I keep slowing down so I don't rip it in half. If someone uses the craftrobo, they will get better results. Nintendude did a great job with it and I don't think it could get any simpler. It could also be the paper I am using. I got 110lb cardstock but when I cut it, the pages seperate. I never had this issue with the 90lb white I started learning with. I may go back just for this issue or just for smaller projects.

Yep TwistedXKnights did the unfolding on the sub-zero mask I did the scorpion mask which was a real pain and I can only bet it will be a pain to make it as well

Sorry twisted. Didn't pick up on the name quick enough. I finally have some time so i hope to complete it by this weekend (Sunday). So much school work and writing Java programs. FRACKING Professors. I will let you guys know by pics on Sunday.

thanks for the info anubis, I got someone working on Tekknoman Blade they used GameAssassain to rip him from the Wii game or something like that and he told me he's working on fixing up the model to where I can have my fun with it.

Sorry for the delay. I got busy with school work and then the super bowl on sunday. Will finish by tonight and post pics. Once again sorry for the delay.

SUCCESS!!!! Ok. I finished liked I promised. A day late but finished. Here is my advice on the build:

1) DO the center piece FIRST!! This is the most detailed part and the folds have to be good.

2) Do the outsides second.

3) Combine both sides to the center.

I didn't do mine that way but as I built it, it became apparent to me that I should have done it thatway from the beginning. The circle pieces in the sides of the mask were too small for me to work with. I actually tore them and the bottom of the mask. I had to do some repair work in post pep. I am not the best pepper but this is my best shot so far.

Pic Time

Me in my Neoprene mask for comparison

The SubZero Mask

that looks so cool on you Anubis and even better that someone built it. Once I finish my convention and my armor I'll be building one of these as well.

After winter I was thinking of using (after fiberglassing) a thin magnetic strip so the mask could be put on and removed with ease. Almost like the respiratior Batman uses. Easy on Easy off but can stay while moving and talking. Any other Ideas?

the other thought is use velcro on the inside sides of the mask to fix it to the sides of your neoprene mask.magnets unless it's really strong magnets it may fall or slip off while talking.

OK. I was testing out a way to "harden" the mask indoors during winter. I found this plaster stuff that comes in a roll and I cut it into small squares (just like fiberglass), dunk them in water, and place them on the object. As you can see, it came out as the one on the left. I painted it thinking I could cover some of the imperfections but to no avail. It still has the basic shape but I will have to get a dremmel and practice sanding on it. I made the second one (which came out better now that I followed my own directions above) and will be using Aqua Resin and fiberglass on it (still too cold for regular resin here in NY). I will post pics of it as I finish them up.
