MK7B Infinite Spartan- Foam

Halo Infinite is awesome and inspired me to build a Spartan. It's goana be big and red, kind of like a fire truck but with more space guns.

I've finished the thighs and am currently working on a sidekick and the codpiece.

Bonus pics of a recon helmet that NobleofDeath16 made me for the Midwest Secret Santa.

A small update. I'm nearly finished with the belt and cod, the only thing left are the covers for the little side pouches. I'm not 100% set on the way I have it rigged, but it is wearable. Basically, it's too small to fit around my waist, so I added elastic between the backs of the pouches and the back section. This gives it just enough stretch to fit over my head (I have to put it on over my head) and sit comfortably on my hips. I'd like to add a buckle but I'm just not sure how I could make that work. The elastic makes it not so game accurate looking, but it's a small detail and you can only see it from the side. It also makes it sit a lot more naturally, so I'd say the pros outweigh the cons.

Another progress update. Working on the chest now. After cosplaying an ODST for so long the Spartan chest plate already feels super tanky and awesome.

It's tricky for sure! I've just been taking it slow, having lots of reference handy and making sure I'm sticking to it.

I've never worn 3d printed armor, so I can't say for sure, but foam is pretty comfortable other than being hot. It doesn't pinch and it's lightweight. You do have to worry about foam tearing though. It's somewhat avoidable if you reinforce high risk areas like seams on edges with nylon webbing or hot glue, but it's still goana happen. 3d prints can crack though so I guess there's pros and cons to both.

Another small progress update. I was a little short on time today and just recieved a giant roll if webbing in the mail, so I did the strapping for my thighs. Each thigh has two female parachute buckles (I heard somewhere that two points makes them less likely to rotate) seen to a 6" piece of webbing. The buckles stick out 3" from the top of the thighs so that the buckle isn't right next to the piece. My seams on the top edge were already ripping, So I reinforced those with a slice of webbing whole I was at it. Everything was glued up with Shoe Goo. I've also included a couple of photos of my magnetic belt pouches.

I'm absolutely stealing that idea of the side pieces being pouches, I have to extend them on mine a bit so that works out cause I've been thinking on what to do for them

I really like this idea too. Wanted to try this with my first belt but the pouches would have been too small to warrant them being functional. I need to re size the whole thing so I might give it another shot seeing how well these turned out!
