MKVI Chest Piece

I just finished my MKVI chest piece. It's too big. I put so much time and effort into making it to have worked on it for nothing. What should i do? Should I cut the sides and reconnect them to make it smaller? I could really use some good advice.

Does it look big compared to your helmet, if you have one? and I would say you could cut off some of the space under your arm, where your hips are, and also in the top of the chest where lets say the buckle-looking part is...it would be good to see a picture to see what else you can do...but thats would I would suggest for now...
