I've tried many, and none work well. Does anyone know of a good free dds to psd converter?

Nevermind. changed the question.

WHERE THE HELL IS THE POA MODEL?
I've been looking for hours for it in the course of the last two weeks.

How can you convert a .dds (image) to a .3ds (3d model) to a .psd (image)?

.dds can only be saved with paintshop pro or photoshop for it to work with games.

You still need photoshop/paintshop pro.

.dds is a texture used in a PC game I play, I skin the textures and the only way to open .dds and save it as .psd is photoshop.

I have photoshop, I just don't know how to d/l the plugin. I put it in what I thought was the correct directory and it didn't work.

If it is in the RIGHT directory, then you should go to file>open>and open the .dds file and it will appear like any other image.

Okay, I'd like to change my question.......
how does one rip models, all found links are broken or I have to pay money for them...

For .DDS to work properly after being edited, you must use proper settings according to the game, only the plugin can edit these settings.

Okay, this whole thread is extremely noobish and irritating, I apologise.
But I still have a new question....*ahem*

to put a DDS into a psd use DXTBMP converter...you open the dds...save it as a 24 bitmap file...then open it in photoshop and you can save as a psd...i use it all the time for repainting aircraft for FSX(or atleast trying to...havent perfected it yet)

Thanks, but I stumbled upon that earlier, while being tired. A while ago.....
Seriously, where's the POA?

Let me clear some stuff up for you.

DDS - Dercit X texture file

PSD - Photoshop immage file

.3ds - Autodesk model file

. obj - models used in halo 1 2 and 3
