Mounting a Visor in a foam Mark VI Helmet

Can anyone give me some pointers? My current thought is to cut the visor to the right shape and form it with a heat gun so it doesn't stretch the helmet out to be too wide. I think mounting it with nut/bolt and hot glue reinforcement may work, but I'm unsure as I have never made a foam helmet.
I tried searching for it in the forums, but nothing jumped out at me. Most everyone doing a foam build has a pepped helmet.

well your idea would work :)
I did kinda the same thing, i used my heat gun to shape my visor and then when i had it set where i wanted i just used some hook and loop (velcro) to secure it in. so far it is holding just fine. Hope that helps :)

That sounds like a good idea too.

Yeah here is how i did it with some pics to show ya. Hope you dont mind :)

All i did was heat form the visor to the helmet then i used velcro to attach it :) So far it holds really well.

I put the velcro on either side of the visor, here is just one side shown.

Then i fitted the visor in the helmet so i could figure out where to put the velcro in the helmet and then attached it. Here are some pics to show that. :)

That looks like a better way to attach than what I was thinking of. Thanks for the pics! I have a question about the padding. I took my padding out from my motorcycle helmet and put it in my Mk VI helmet but when I put it on it made it very wide. Since the foam is flexible, it just kind of... flexed lol. Is there a good way to prevent this? Or is there a way to keep the helmet on securely without said flexing? It seems like the padding has a higher resistance to pressure than the foam does, so when I put it on, instead of the padding giving, the helmet does :confused

Hmmmm the only thing i can think to do is use less padding. Try some thinner stuff rather than using the motorcycle helmet padding. Maybe try like a Skateboard helmet padding or something??
Go to a craft store maybe and find some really squishy foam you can use maybe. Or if all else fails, use more EVA foam that you built the helmet out of. :)
