My first cosplay

Hey everyone,
Im new to cosplay, but have been 3d printing and doing all sorts of other random crafts for years, so i happen to be set up very nicely for making something like this. Its definitely been a learning curve, but ive gotta say its created a spark in me that i really enjoy. heres a few pics of my journey so far. Everything was printed on a creality k2 plus, with about 10 rolls of filament and about a solid month of print time.

For post processing, i chose to use acetone thinned bondo, brushed on about 4 layers, then sanded and followed with filler primer. about a week of putting 4 hours or so a day into sanding and filling. Still have allot of detail work to do, mostly painting.

Next on the agenda is creating the undersuit. Im using a motocross armored top to hold everything in place, just gotta get buckles and straps in the right places, then create the visible pieces of undersuit from EVA foam. midriff and inner thighs mostly. EVA is new to me, and has been a challenge thus far.

This group has been amazing so far, i look forward to seeing you all at events in the midwest

Looking very clean so far!

Also, welcome to the 405th!

From the looks of things, you have a pretty good grasp on the craft. There are a lot of people around if you end up having questions or need help with anything.

I look forward to seeing more of the build for when the initial construction is completed and what you build in the future!

Everything about this, from the Mk VI armor, to the Bondo, to the motocross top takes me back 10 years. I've seen the posts of your progress popping up on Facebook, and the suit looks soooo good! Keep up the amazing work!

PS. I didn't know Geoffrey (my mannequin) had a brother in the Midwest...and he has abs!?!

Thats Zack, and he is absolutely ripped...so ripped, that he cant wear my armor with his arms on lol. Ive got a buddy here in town who is Tiktok famous for a costume called the spiritwalker, has yet another of the siblings, named Gerald lol

current plan is to build a vacuum forming machine...ive got some space heaters i can cannibalize to heat the sheets, and i can print the buck. boils down to time and ambition, i can also purchase one, or use a motorcycle visor...
I found one on etsy. seems cheap enough, and should be easy to install with a hot glue gun. Worth taking a look.
