My first pepakura helmet - Predator

Hi, I had another thread about this that I made a few days ago but I couldn't find it... So here is my progress so far on my first pepakura helmet. I hope the links to the images work this time. During the making of this I had to look at the pepakura file itself since there weren't any numbers, the front of the helmet top started to look warped and I had to remove my thin sheet of construction paper as my support and replace it. All in all I thought it failed and now it looks like it may live to see the fiberglass resin. :)

Thanks, I've been working on it all day. Yesterday I was thinking about just adding the left side to it and cutting it up a little to make a prop but I somewhat salvaged it.

Holy crap!!

My 3d pred model/pepakura is still kicking around eh? Glad to see someone making it. I hope you finish because I've never seen one finished.

PS- If you wanna be diehard it's called a predator bio. For whatever reason. I guess it's to good to be a mask or something.

Predator Bio Helmet, that does sound a lot better then just predator mask. Right now I'm focusing on the left side of it because that seems to be its best side of building.

Sorry if this counts as a double post but instead of making a new thread I thought I would put images of the Bio helmets progress in the same thread.

Ugh that lightweight paper really made it look worse in these pictures. I started to think everything could look good and be fixed until I saw the 3rd image. If you decide to re-do it there is a button at the top of the designer or viewer that turns on edge ID. I would suggest 110 weight cardstock too.

Well with the left side all done it made the pose in the third picture look weird. I used up all of my good glue and so far elmers seems to work good as well.

I would have to agree with Nintendude on the 110lb cardstock, it is far easier to work with plus it holds up very well. Also superglue is a good way to go ;] makes everything go quick and its strong.

i think it looks good must have been hard without numbers.. after you glass and paint it you should buy the 60 dollar latex mask and mount it on a manican head for display or wear it if you can make the rest of the costume

I just got the good amount for a good price, next time I will check the weight. Last time I used superglue on a pepakura file I was working on it messed up because one piece slid up past its mark and ruined the whole project, I'll just stick with using normal glue for now.

imo using a hotglue gun is the best method. if you make that same mistake with hot glue you just heat it back up and move it into place you can get a cheap gun a dollar discount stores for less than 10 buks and the glue sticks are about the same price as getting good elmers glue "YOU WILL FEEL THE BURN" so to speak but you get numb to it rather quick. 150 lbs cardstock is about $6 for 100 sheets here in PA and is way better than regular paper i laughed when i switched to it i got 2x the work done in the same time GL and what ever gets the job done for you so we can see this glassed and painted
