I'd agree. Looks like they're sized more for the Master Chief's seven-foot-tall frame than an average person (5'10" to 6').

Personally, I think maybe the size-tester helmet you're wearing in that pic is a wee bit too small (looks like it just barely fits your head), but I could be wrong, lol.

Still, it's all looking good so far, dude. Not bad for your first resining attempt, heh

Yeah, that was a size tester, the FS HD helmet was uncomplete at that time.

As for the bicep thing................aww crap they just might be.....I printed them outa the Robo pack and....I didnt label ALL of the pieces. I assumed they were thighs because there were shoulders that I DID label, I didnt even think that biceps were a separate piece from the shoulders. I feel like a total retard. oh well, all the friends I showed it too would never know..... but for all you people who are now laughing your butts off, here do me a favor and shoot me....

Ugh, I will fix that later.

Oh yeah, the pistol IS scaled to chief, that was my first pep project, wasnt too wise in the ways of scaling. The AR is a pretty decent size, I like it. I actually am 6' tall and so lightly built that a lotta stuff looks big on me. I also, for those of you who are asking about it, I scaled the helmet down TEN PERCENT form the size tester that I was wearing in that picture.....with the biceps on my legs. It might be a little small, but I plan to put sort of a collar on in once I totally finish it. I.E. lights, visor, fan, detailing, etc. That way it'll fit a lot better.

Does anybody know what happens if you use resin below the required temperature. like say.......35-45 degrees? thats 10-20 degrees below what they recommend on the can. But I really want to have the fiberglass set by the end of tomorrow morning so I can mud up in the afternoon. I really dont want to mess it up, but I really want to get the fiberglass set so I can at least START putting mud on my helmet by tomorrow.

P.S. I doubt it, due to the resin involved, but is mud house safe?

The quick answer's no. You're right, since it still involves resin (and bondo for that matter) you'd need a respirator unless you want some cancer.

And about the temperature, I don't think resining in cold temp is the best idea since it needs heat and the colder it is, the longer it'll take. I just put a little space heater in a shed I have and then come check on it with a respirator every once in a while when it's chilly outside.

Looks good so far, but next time before you put down glass spray the area with some spray adhesive.
Let it dry (till its tacky) then resin, b/c It holds the glass to the paper and keeps it from contracting while curing.

keep up the good work.

its okay it happened to me once i resined at 6 and it gets really cold over here so it was a little sticky so me and my step dad (hes awesome!!@!!) made a makeshift heat trapper thing just cardboard boxish thing put the things you need in there turn the heater on and it will keep heating up check on it though thats my my garage burned down april fools...
but the helm looks good also you should leave the gravel there because it will look like battle damage
just a wittle warpage dont worry though mine warped too...

I actually resined the area about as thick as the outer layer, then layed the fiberglass over that, THEN soaked the glass in resin pretty heavily. I didnt want to add a few odd chemicals to the resin, for fear of wierd outcomage.

yeah, i'll probably end up using a heat lamp, got a couple O those hanging around. plus, little safer than having a space heater hangin around. anyway, good to know, I was really in the mood to get a lot done this morning, but I didnt know if I should.....

Thanks for the response guys!
