My Pepakura Clone Trooper Armor

Hello

After seeing countless clone and storm trooper pep projects be cancelled, I have decided to stop being so lazy and actually do some work. What I am doing right now is trying to take the 3d models of armor from SCIFI3d and edit it in Metasequoia so that there are only the armor pieces, then import them into pepakura. This is going surprisingly well, but I stilll need to lower the poly count. I already have both handplates and both knees unfolded and assembled, and the calves and thighs are unfolding right now. I only plan to make ther armor, so in place of the helmet you can use the Ep2 Helmet that is floating around on this forum. Credits to whoever made that helmet.....I only have a few pieces that I can show you right now, but I will be periodically be posting updates. Keep watching this post!

Major thanks to Chris Boudreaux from SCIFI3d for the clone trooper model

Looks pretty good! Keep it up. Although the chest looks a little flat, but I think you know that already.

Hah, yeah. I've been trying to find a replacement model for the chest but they're either too big or too high-poly.

I'm sure that you can downsize the polys a bit with a 3d program such as max, and high poly isn't too bad unless you mean like CGI perfect rounded edges high poly :p.

Doesn't the model come with the gun?

and of it does you should make the gun too(would help some of us clone fans out).

I have to let you guys know...that file would need to be modified GREATLY to be 501st applicable.

The chest is too flat, the thighs to squarish, the details just aren't there....

It'd be easier to screen ref a model and build it from that....

*Update*

1. I am almost done! I have everything unfolded and ready to be assembled in pepakura files. They are mainly assembled by thick strips that line up vertically to preserve as much quality as possible. I was originally going to sell the armor, but I decided to release it for free. Lucky you.

2. The only thing holding me back from releasing the files are the forearms. They are waaay too detailed, and unless you like gluing together tiny verticle strips, your out of the luck. The problem is that the only forearm piece does not have any polygons. It is made of thousands of TRIANGLES, which metasequoia does not let you reduce. If anyone out there knows how to reduce triangles in ANY program, or has a very simple clone forearm, pm me or post a comment PLEASE!

3. Please do not expect a high quality costume out of this. I really wanted clone armor using the pepakura technique, and considering that no one else had pepakura clone armor, I had to make it in my free time.

4. Darkesword- BE NICE! I'm trying my best here, and I am not planning to submit this to anyone in the 501st or do anything else with it other than make it for display. There is no need to dis my work. Also, if you have a better chest piece, I would like to see it.

5. In terms of weapons, I am not planning to release any blasters or anything, but I may if people like my work. The weapons are rather complicated and have a bunch of parts.

Thank you very much to all the people who are watching my post. I appreciate it very much.

P.S Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I just got back from a 7 day canoe trip.

Don't be so negative, If you don't like it don't post a comment, or make one yourself.

File is taken from scifi3d.com, I looked there back then and played around with clone models. I remember downloading the same exact file. Everything was pretty accurate and good looking but the flat front chest.
