Used to it? I think I missed it! ;)

Well, shucks buddy... I don't know what to say

It's nice to know my presence is felt here, heh. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... in only a completely heterosexual way, of course:lol:

Guess what?! It's update time again, lol.

To get right into it, this past weekend was -- again -- fantastic. Did a sort of double-date thing with my friends Mike and Brandy on Saturday; Mel and I met up with them at the Museum of Civilization here in town about mid-afternoon (Mel had a dress-fitting to go to in the morning for her friend Tracy's upcoming wedding).

We got there at around 2:00PM, and left somewhere around 6:00PM. The new exhibits we were all interested in seeing were the Mythic Beasts and Tombs of Eternity (which were awesome), but since it had been years since any of us had been there we checked out a few of the other, older exhibits too.

Afterward, we went downtown for dinner. The first place we stopped at, though nice, was a little pricey for Mike and Brandy, plus the menu was rather limited so he wasn't able to find anything he could eat (Mel and I will go back there ourselves sometime). We ended up going across the street to the Hard Rock Cafe, which worked out a lot better for everyone.

This being the first time I'd had Mel with me when I saw the two of them, I was very pleased to see how well we all hit it off with the conversation. Not like I was concerned that Mel and them wouldn't get along, it's just, knowing how quiet she can be I didn't know if there'd be much talking going on.

The original plan was that after dinner we were all going to go back to their place for a bit and maybe get some good ol' HALO 3 killing in, but Mike's stomach was giving him some trouble, so we had to end the outing a bit sooner than expected.

At which point, of course, Mel and I headed back to her place. Watched some TV while stretched out on the couch, then went to bed. We actually got to bed at a decent hour for a change, lol.

Now, to anyone who might be thinking "Why doesn't he ever have her over at his place?", the reason for that is 1) I have a match-box sized apartment which is barely big enough to fit me, and 2) it's always way too warm in my apartment, and Mel needs the place to be at a certain temperature or she can't breathe properly. Obviously, that can cause problems with trying to sleep soundly through the night.

As such, whenever we're to spend the night together, it has to be at her place. I sure wish I had climate control at home, lol.

Anyway, to continue... the following morning came around, but we didn't get out of bed until about 11:00AM, lol. Did the usual routine of getting cleaned up and changed, and then we headed downstairs to start our day.

Given the conversation we'd had earlier in the week, I knew she had some things to do around the house (dusting, vaccuuming, laundry) as well as watch some of her soap operas that she'd been recording but hadn't been able to catch up on, so I decided to bring my laptop and some drafting materials along with me to do more work on some schematics. I figured if I had my own thing to do there, that would allow her to do hers.

That didn't work out so well, though. At first, I was up in the dinning room updating my resume (she'd let me know about a public application pool that had opened up for a government position, so I wanted it to look good) and then got to work on the schematics, but she kept coming up from the basement to see what I was doing, lol.

Finally, I decided maybe it would work better if I were to bring my stuff downstairs, and then that way I'd be in the same room where she was watching her shows, so she wouldn't have to go walking around the house looking for me and would be able to focus on her shows.

Unfortunately, despite my well-laid plans, it turned out I'd forgotten a few key pieces of reference material at home, so I wasn't able to work on the schematics much. Instead, I ended up just lounging on the couch next to her and watched some of the soaps along with her.

She definately seemed more inclined to spend time with me, as she'd even made the comment that she could always watch her shows throughout the rest of the week.

After getting through a whole tape, she turned it off and we popped in the original "Ocean's Eleven" (starring the Rat Pack). I have to say, it was damn good, and considerably different from the remake. Personally, I like the original better.

It was then that we proceeded to just remain stretched out on the couch together... for almost another three hours, lol. Just laying there, staring at one another and talking. As per the usual, when the time came for me to go, again (not surprisingly) neither of us wanted me to leave, lol. She even made the comment that if we kept this up -- seeing each other as much as we do, spending the night together, on the weekends -- it could get more difficult for us as time goes on.

I agreed, but at the same time the whole once-a-week thing just doesn't do it for us anymore. I mean, yeah... it was fine when I was first trying to court her, but now spending less than a day with one another just isn't enough for us. Kinda crazy when you take into account it's now only been a little over five weeks since this all started for us :p

We'd already discussed the idea of moving in together -- due to what some friends have said about that (they seem convinced we're going to move in together once my current lease here is up) -- and as appealing as that is to both of us, we've agreed that we should give that some time. Since most everything else is going along fairly swiftly, we figure we should try to pace ourselves at least a bit, lol.

Anyhoo, that's the gist of it. With each coming weekend I ask myself if it could get any better, and without fail it always does. Go figure, lol.
