My Wife's Build (A little something medieval, a little something scales, a little something.........)

Still chugging along on this build all while working on other projects at the same time, so I figured I'd do a photo dump as an update. Here goes:

I drew up a shield years ago just sketching and thought this idea would be a great build for my wife's armor set.......BUT WAIT.......THERE'S MORE! I couldn't just make a shield.......no, that would be to easy right!? Lets add LED's to the shield in a backlight fashion AND separate it into three different zones all controlled by a remote control. Easy peasy! Each zone (1&3, 2&4, & center) can be controlled independently with their own color(s) and flash patterns or all zones can be synced together as a unified color or flash pattern. Once set, the rocker switch can turn the shield on/off by the wearer and the controller(s) remember the last pattern / color that was used and defaults to that.

Actually, it really wasn't all that difficult with the wiring, but adding in a portable 12v power supply did give the shield some added weight in addition to figuring out where to "hide" it all on the back side. I then wired up a simple 2 leg rocker switch into the pvc handle and will cover that in foam clay and wrap it with cording to look like a leather wrapped handle. The front will get big horns layered along the interior lines of the shield all facing outward away from the the center sphere. The edging on the front side will be lined with 1" spikes. I bought a pack of metal ones then made a mold of those in order to cast them out of a flexible material in order to be con safe.

Lastly, I have the foam to work on my Space Marine build, but have shelved that build until I finish this one and a few other smaller projects before devoting my full attention to the Space Marine build.

Enjoy the pics!
