I love this, any reason why the tally is on the backside of the thigh?

Looks great, I like your ideas of using the imperfections as damage and the carbon look on the thighs. I also like your choice of color...not usually a fan of blue but yours has changed my take on it.... keep up the good work look forward to your next update.

thanks. i figured the best way to go about battle damage was to have actual damage. i did spend a lot of time picking out that blue colour. i initially was using a different blue but swapped to this one, and went through testing the results of different under coats.

it was the only place with enough space to evenly lay out the tally in the size i wanted. i like the idea of it but it may yet be covered up depending one which side i decide to put the thigh pouch on when i reach that part of the build

Thats kinda what my thought on it was, bad of the leg realistically isn't the greatest place to mark. Unless the idea is the spartan takes his armor off every day to update the count.

I love the idea of keeping score though there's kind of a dark sense of humor to it like the old WWII bombers.

I agree I really like that idea it is really cool seeing people who have counts on their armor, Captain rex has tic marks all over his armor. But I like the idea of having different things like you have

i was hoping to keep it as one piece that is easily detachable, i would like to use the undersuit for other builds but i may be forced to adapt

this is true, i suppose being at the stage of now having the thighs done i just went for it. though the spartan could get someone else to do the scoring.

also eiros nice profile pic. i definitely want to build a havoc trooper at some point in time

longs times between progress as usual. my predator build seems to have taken over as my "main" build so i do bits and pieces on the spartan on the side. pepped up the second forearm and while it would fit my bare arm in fairly well it was way too small to fit the extra mass of the undersuit forearm as well. making me think the first forearm i initially thought was too big is actually i good size. it's just the width of the top part that bothers me. so i think i will cut straight down the center from front to back and glue the pieces back closer together, to make it more proportionate in my opinion.

the width across to top from left compared to right is what bothers me


but from the side it looks ok

started messing around with rust effects. i can't help myself, i just keep going back and doing more weathering.

how are you doing the rust effect? I was trying to do this on some of my stuff as well, but it didn't turn out do well...
could you share some tips?

so i have tried a few techniques before with acrylic paints it was ok but not great. i figured what better way to imitate rust than by using actual rust. the product i used was called dulux design rust. first you paint on an iron based medium, let it dry. then sponge on the rusting agent let it sit for about 24 hours and it will rust up. splash on a few drops of water to let it run. and then clear coat it to seal the rust in

ohhh, i didn't want to go too small with the scores so that they would be visible at a distance, but things dont always work out the way you want. i'm planning on putting a tack pad on one forearm and the greadier attachment on the other. i might just have to suck it up and make space on the arm for it

been a long time since i've done any work on this, postponed it to work on other things. but hoping to get it finished this year. i took the suit out for a test run a while back, had issues with the snaps coming loose on the thigh straps also lost a knee somewhere so going to have to rebuild that. so going to swap them over to velcro. also built a sangheili skull as a trophy for my predator cosplay, i think i'll now incorperate it some how into my spartan.

quite a few parts in the works hardening the cod, butt plate, both fore arms, and a new shoulder.
finally decided on the chest. it's going to be indomitable. the jorge chest from reach file i found lacking enough detail for my likes so i'm going to have to try my hand at unfolding the h5 version. but with a bit of some Frankenstein stuff. i didn't want to go with the back pack so i have separated it and intend to hack up the back and use the reach back from another file since it leaves the back very plain

had a bit of progress chest is being hardened, i've decided to harden it in 2 pieces, i've has issues with one piece warping and not fitting after so going to do it in two and join it after.






new shoulder is painted up and starting on the weathering


painting up the forearms, i think i will run out of time to get the wrist computer mounted and working to that is going on the backburner for a while


after two test runs ripping off snaps on one occasion and velcro on the other, i'm now running snaps and velcro that has been glued and sewn on to the webbing

the t600 terminaror skull? i made it as a trophy skull for my predator costume, now it just kinda lives on my costume stands, was a pint to make but but a cool addition
