Hey guys finally getting around to making a post, Down here in Adelaide I have started a new halo 3 armor build and I wanna Share what I have so far

Please Give feedback

Yes!! Another marine! I love your work dude, seen your ODST at the meet ups
I’m so excited to see the finished result, don’t know much about 3D prints as I work with foam but what I did for mine with the parts under the shoulders was cut thin foam so round 2mm and then wrapped it with black fabric so it had the form and appeal of the under armour and wasn’t as restrictive on my body, also did that with my thighs and stomach area.

The metal chipping looks insane, what did you use for that?

Was gonna do a wrap on my BDU to get the look

And for the chipping effect, it's a chrome base coat then used toothpaste to cover the parts of wanted "chipped" and the sprayed my top coat

Toothpaste?? Omg that’s so interesting, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that technique before I love the creativity with that haha is this a well known method or something you came up with?

It's not super common anymore, as most people use liquid masking or liquid latex

But it worked that's the key part

Update on my build so far
We have a set of wearable armour set
Did a test run with HeyCammie And photos taken by cyne

Absolutely excited about finishing this kit

Also
M90 or MA5

And yea I know i needa dye the visor and darkwash the kit

Probably both at this point
I have 2 visors
So might have a spare to swap em out

Also, love how your chipping turned out, do you have a guide or anything that you followed for that? I know above you said toothpaste and I know that’s a thing, but would love to know more!

Yea happy to discuss that
It came out pretty good
A little annoying to take off as there was a bunch of residue to sort out and clean up

Next time I'd use liquid masking or liquid latex as it's easier to remove

But it's real simple to do, Chrome or silver base coat
Place ur masking compound were you want damage
Spray over top
Clean when paints cured

And always happy to discuss it in a DM

Very little

Just good print orientation and drowning it in filler primer
