Ok well ive always loved the look of the ww2 officers hats and have been dieing to get a hold of a replica, only to have my dreams crushed by even the cheapest of replicas, 50 bucks , not horrible but i cant do that in this economy

so i figure i could try to make a project out of this and try to make one out of paper over lapped with fabric

the hard part is the pep. i have no clue how to make the files

if anyone could help me out with that i would be so extremely happy.

the reason ive been dieing to get one is i have some old school gas masks and i would love to put it together in a costume.

PLEASE HELP!

this doesnt seemlike a job for pep. you should probably get a hat that looks similar to the one that you are trying to make, then you should add foam sheets to get the desired look, and then wrap in fabric. then use some fabric paints to paint it how you want it.

at least thats what i would do.

Which one?

Or the US Officers Cap:

Although there is not much of a difference they are two different things.

I must say that making a peaked cap (combination cover, whatever you want to call it) is something that is just not suited to pepakura. You could try, but why? You'll probably spend half the price of the replica making it out of paper covered in fabric, but getting it to really look right will be extremely difficult. I hate to rain on your parade, but I think this is one instance where it is better to forgo pepping this one and save up for a decent replica. I think you'll come out happier in the end.

the German crusher is what ive been hoping for

but as for spending the money, thats the thing, my mom works for a fabric store and gets everything dirt cheep , and as for the index paper i still have a lot left over from an odst helmet i have made

so like i said if anyone could just show me a tutorial on how to make a pep file i would be very gratefull

The crusher's are pretty cool, I hope to be getting one soon for my dress uniform.

As for the pep files i myself am learning how to work with the 3d software and have only scratched the surface.

Hope you find someone who ca help you...and sorry that i could not.

Good Luck!

google search quick easy painless... this is your best bet.. makeing a pep and then trying to make your own.. kinda a waste of time and resources in my opinion.. try this http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php/products_id/2478 cheep and will look better than the one you wouldve made yourself... remember these are never made with pep never have been. clothing like this is easyer to buy than make... unless you knew exactly how to make it without pep.

anyways thats my 2 cents

I respect that everyone feels there helping me here by telling me to purchase it, but thats not what im asking

buying it isnt an option when your living off a paycheck from the mall and going to college.

a while ago i also inquired about a ww2 german helmet, something that could very easily be made out of pep.

but yet even though i just ask for a simple tutorial. but instead i get people who feel they know what i want better than i do.

i like these pep projects and i have plenty of materials already to save money for buying a replica.

so please , if anyone knows of a good tutorial for making pep files i would still love to know

i still desire to make both the hat and the helmet.

If you're that low on cash, you shouldn't be wasting money on paper models in the first place. If you don't have any plans to go beyond the pep stage, chances are nobody's going to make models for you in a timely fashion, and if you do go beyond the pep stage, you'll spend more money than you would on a replica.

As for a tutorial, there isn't one that I know of, but I would recommend downloading Blender and spending as much time learning to use it if you want to make pep files.

i literally have EVERYTHING need to complete these projects, my dad works in construction and car repair so i have gallons and roll after roll of fiber glass, i have so much bondo i could build a house with it, that is why id rather do the pep. because at this point there isnt a dime being spent. not to mention i actually LIKE doing that kinda stuff

And thank you , the program is called bender you say?

Just Google Blender 3D and you'll find it. It'll take quite a while to learn, though, so don't expect instant gratification.
