Welcome to the Pep Scaling thread revisited.
The purpose for this revisit is to hopefully clear up some of the mystery some members are experiencing when building there armor. There seems to be a common problem for members not understanding the formula provided for some peps. So I have done about two weeks worth of work on the boots to come up with the following information without using the supplied formula.
Please note my method has not been completely verified but from the several sets of boots I have made I feel that the numbers are very close to what you need. As always corrections are welcome and looked into to make this as accurate as possible.
First thing we will cover is the Boots:
The interesting thing about the boots is the split design that allows for more freedom when kneeling down. The gap provides the much needed flex to accomplish this position. Also adding that there is a three piece boot design this allows for easier access when inserting a pair of normal shoes or boots to wear on the inside of the armor.
The Pep file I will be using is the Robogenisis model Link
You can use either version, the 2 or 3 piece and achieve the same results for scaling.
First step is to measure your foot as follows:
once you have your measurement in CM use the following scale to determine your Pepakura scale factor.
Once you have determined your Spartan scale plug it into Pep Designer.
I have successfully done this for two different size shoes so the math behind it should be solid but there could be errors so if you use this method please let me know if there is any issues.
