I've been a member on this site for not too long. I only recently made an account but when I didn't have one i just did my research here. I started making pep models a while ago so I know which ones are difficult and which are good to start with.
Here I've decided to help out the youngins to get started with simple bits and pieces and easier suits to make.
To get started the obvious first piece you want to try is a glove plate preferably low detail then high detail if you do a good job.
Once you've finished the high def model hand plate your probably wondering what pep models to do next right?
After that you should probably try the arbiter pieces ONLY IF YOU INTEND TO RESIN / GLASS THEM if not then just do any Mark V pieces you want they're all really easy.
*Note these are all available on the wiki* Link here>> http://halocostuming.wikia.com/wiki/Pepakura_File_Index
Once you get familiar with these pieces reflect on your work and see if you did a good job on those pieces.
Make sure you glass and bondo and smooth (Check the stickies on that I'm just posting easier pieces to start with)
The marine armor is worth a mention here I mean most of the pieces are as easy as the hand plates cept the torso thats a little hard for beginners.
Once you finish your Mark V suit entirely you may want to try an h2 odst helm.
After that you probably want to ask "Am I ready for the big files now?"
The answer is "Only if you intend to finish those projects entirely then yes you are."
You should work on the Low def Mark VI models They're a step up from the Mark V suit but still entirely do-able.
Once you finish your low def suit congrats! I think you may be ready to move up to any file you want because you have probably learned pep usually takes a while unless you take those 5 hour energy shots or the oh so godly mountain dew.
Joking aside you are now ready to take on the other helms or the high def parts if you are focused and have the funding.
Remember AND THIS IS IMPORTANT Don't start any projects you won't finish.
A quick recap:
1.-Begin with handplates-Any kind preferably low-def mark 6
2-High-def hand plates same mark
3. Marine/Arbiter armour-ONLY IF YOU INTEND TO FINISH because once you start finished pep files don't waste paper please.
4.-Mark V armour It's simple and cool looking in my opinion.
5.-Halo 2 O.D.S.T armour -My personal Favorite.
6.-Low def Mark VI=Roman numeral for 6 V=5
7.-High def Mark VI or whatever you want because now you know the rules of pep.
Any questions send me a P.M.
