All right, before I type anything else, I must stress this is not mine. I couldn't sleep and was wondering around the Indy Mogul site when I found this little tutorial from "Wesely's Weekly". Its a way to make a fairly decent granade for under 10 bucks, besides your probably recycling the base of it anyway. Here's the link.

He also suggests using a drink can, but thinks it would be too flimsy, but if you have some extra expanding foam from other projects you could fix that. Or reinforce a soda can from the outside with paper mache, or water activated packing tape.

Thought this might be helpful to some of you guys

Nice looking grenade. Could be useful when scaring hostile friends off in paintball. Thanks for the link. That is a very helpful, fun looking, and quick project.

I agree with you SpartanMjolnir. Maybe there could be away to make a round case to put around the spray can. I trying to think of what could be used.

I think I might have found something for a frag grenade look. As most of us know, a FRAG is round. The spray cans recommended are shaped like a FLASBANG. Wel in certain stores, they sell those mini plastic coke bottles shaped like a large egg. It is very close to the shape of a FRAG. The only thing I am really not sure about is the plastic. It might be to delicate. But it is just an idea. Brainstorming, you know? Creative thinking.

All grenades have different shapes.
From Counter Strike Source you use Grenades called "HE Grenades".
They're not technically Fragmentation Grenades, But they do the same thing.
Not every single Frag grenade is round and has the same shape.
But if you're referring to one its easy to use a round one, As it's most recognised.

I'm looking for the shape of the pineapple grenades used by the U.S. in WW2. Those are my favorite. But if you want to use a different shape, then go ahead. All grenades do look different.

Great find Kaya Tetsu. Indy Mogul has sooo many good prop ideas on their site. ;)

The full name on those guys is the MKII "pineapple"grenade. Such a cool shape, not sure how to replicate cheaply though. As for the current fragmentation grenade the US military uses (M67 grenade) tennis balls are the way to go for the body.

Here it is-

Strip off all the fur and your left with the two halfs of the rubber which is close enough to the right size, might need to bulk the inside up some with some expanding foam though (I've done that on a test one, just hard to get the two sides to set even). For the neck where the fuse screws in a piece of dowel should do. All the pin is on a grenade is a split pin and a split ring.

The fuse is a bit more complicated. I picked up a spent one from an arms fair over here ealier in the year with the hope of replicating it and using the tennis ball bodies. I'll probably just use pine or MDF for most of the fuse and a cut down nail for where the safety lever hooks onto. As for the lever itself I want to use sheet metal. A bit more pricey but it should give a nice "ping" sound if you put a spring into the MDF. :D

This is what Im using a little large but with the right paint and detail and some light inserts (plasma grenade) or frag with some putty work.
Also its $2 and made from rigid abs plastic that wont dent.
